Gaea's Locket Ch. 5

“See you guys later.” Kei said as the two students got out of his car. “I'm working late so I won't be able to pick you guys up.” Rini then asked, “What about Nee-chan?” Kei answered, “I'll let her know and tell her to call you after your class. Otherwise you might as well take the bus home.”
“My brother can pick us up.” Ryutaro offered.
“Okay. That would great, Ryuu." Rini smiled as she turned to back towards the car, "Thanks for the ride, Kei.”
“No problem.” he smiled. “See ya.” He drove off as he sighed, “It's been a while... I don't think its ever taken this long before... Seriously, what's going on with you? Why does it keep happening?” Obviously, he got no response. He sighed, “We gotta figure out an explanation for this. I don't know how... but there was to be a reason this is happening to you...” Soon he stopped at the animal shelter as he got out of the car. He picked up Yoru and Kari sat on her on his shoulder. Then he got the puppy from the front, but she walked, following him towards the shelter.
“You might want to wait out here.” he stopped the dog. “Unless you want to get adopted from the shelter.” The puppy then sat by the entrance as he smiled, “I'll be back.”
“Ah, Kei. You're early.” he heard as he came in. He smiled to his boss. “Yup. I got off work early today.”
“Lucky you. Where's Kaori? Rare to see you without her.”
“Oh, she's on her way.” he answered. “She just got off work recently.” He put Yoru with all the other cats and Kari back with the birds.
“Alright. So the animals need to get fed and some of them need a bath.” he said. “We don't have that many customers right now so we'll just hang out with the animals for now.” Kei nodded, “Alright. I just gotta get something out of my car first. I'll be back in a sec.” He headed out when he sighed. The puppy was gone.
“Where did you go now?” he looked around. He check behind the shelter, around the cars. As he looked under his car, he heard, “What are you doing?”

“You're back.” he said as he looked up to see Kaori.
“Yea, no thanks to you.” she gave him a look. He stood up, “Hey, I was trying to figure it out. It's just so weird.” She sarcastically answered, “Thank you, Captain Obvious. I know its not normal. That's why I ignore it.”
“You can't just ignore it!” Kei scolded her again. “Look, this is really happening to you. You can't just pretend its not. What if it gets worse? What if you can never change back?”
“Thanks for being Mr. Optimistic....” she sighed.
“Be serious right now. We've got to do something about this.” he explained.
“Like what?” she wondered as he was silent. She sighed, “That's what I thought. Look Kei. I really appreciate your help. But I don't want to even think about this right now. We got work to do.”
“Kaori--” she headed into the shelter as he groaned, “So stubborn...” He followed after, but he wouldn't leave this subject alone.
~Psychology office~
“Satomi~ Are you still working?!” she heard as she saw her best friend come into her office. She smiled, “Hey, Mai. I'm just trying to figure things out right now.” Mai then said, “Usually you figure out things quickly... you must have had an interesting client today.” She nodded, “Do you think its strange for grown men to be imagining having powers?”
“Hmm... well it depends on the man.” Mai thought. “Can you tell me anything else about this guy?”
“You know I can't go into detail... I'm not suppose to talk about what is said between me and my clients.” she told her as Mai nodded, “I know, I know. But if he's like a playful kind of guy then it isn't that strange. If he's the hardworking, serious type of guy then maybe it is weird. He did come to see a psychologist so he must think this imagination is serious...”
“Hmmm, maybe its just a phase he's going through. He's overworking himself, perhaps...” Satomi thought. There was a silence as they soon heard a growl. Mai laughed as Satomi smiled, “Haha, there goes my stomach again. Let's get some food.” Mai nodded, “yea, I'm starving... and we wouldn't want your stomach growling anymore. It might scare some of your other clients.” The two laughed as they headed out.
~Animation Studio~
“Guys, this is a really bad idea!” Shirika recited the lines. “It's too heavily guarded! We'll get caught!” She stopped as the director told her, “That's a wrap~! Great job, Shirika. You've really gotten used to your character.”
“I sure have~!” she smiled.
“Anyways, go ahead and have the rest of the day off. Well continue your recordings on Monday.” he told her. She nodded, “Alright, have a good weekend.”
“Same to you.” she said as she grabbed her bags. “See you Monday.” As she headed out of the studio, she heard a honk as she saw a car park next to her. She smiled as the window rolled down, “What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be working?”
“Not much to do right now.” he replied. “Need a ride home?” She nodded and got in next to him, “Thank, Yuri.”
~Daiki's and Keito's office~
“So...” Yuto asked as they took a seat in Keito and Daiki's home. “What's this all about?”
“Your special ability... or power.” Daiki stated as he passed him a cup of coffee. Yuto took a sip, “Hmm, so say I do have this power, how did you find me?” Keito held up the locket, “DO you know what this is?”
“A locket?”
“It's not just a locket.” Yuki smiled. “It's Gaea's locket. Ever heard of it?” He shook his head as she explained, “This is the reason you got your powers. Inside it held the power of 8 gods. You've obtained one of the powers.”
“This locket lead us right to you.” Daiki told him. “Earlier, when we bumped into each other, it reacted. We could only assume you have it. Zeus' power.”Yuto shrugged, “And what if I don't have this power. Do you guys know how crazy you sound right now? Powers? It's too weird.”
“Is it?” Yuki questioned. “You don't need to hide it. We just want to help.”
“Why would I hide it?” Yuto answered. “I don't have anything to hide.”
“Then why don't you tell us the truth?” Keito wondered.
“What if I am telling the truth?” Yuto raised an eyebrow.
“If you were, you wouldn't be asking what if.” Daiki said as he smiled. “Hm... I guess you got me... so that locket lead you to me huh?” They nodded. Yuto held the locket in his hands, “Ever think that this is just your imagination? I mean, doesn't it sound a little crazy. A locket showing you images of greek powers?”
“It does sound strange, but we are seeing it. It's not just one of us. I doubt that we're all crazy enough to be seeing things.” Keito answered. “Now you've been avoiding it enough... how did you get your powers? No more denying it.”
“Hmm... what's in it for me? If I tell you all about my 'powers'? I see that you guys get your information and maybe even someone you can use for your own purposes, but what will I get out of it?” Yuto wondered.
“We don't want to use you.” Yuki explained. “We just want to know about the locket and the powers.” Daiki lit up, “You'll get an explanation.” They all gave him a questioning look as he explained, “Aren't you curious to know why you got Zeus' power? You of all the people in the world? And why Zeus' power? Why not any of the other Gods? What about the other powers? Where and who are they? You must have some questions about this. If we get enough of our research from you and the others, we'll definitely be able to explain it all.”
“Hmm...” he thought and sighed. “Alright. It's a deal.” He then told them, “I'm not exactly sure how I got this, but a few days ago, while I was at work. The computers were acting weird, I guess technical problems with the monitor, but anyways, I was getting pissed since I couldn't get my work done. And thats when I felt an electric current run through me and hit the computer I was working on. All the power went out in the building.”
“At first I didn't think I had anything to do with it.” he thought as the three listened. “But as I got even more mad about my work being interrupted. I started playing around with the monitor when it finally turned on... but the strange thing was, the power in the building was still off.”
“So it was weird that you got your monitor working without any power.” Keito confirmed as Yuto nodded, “Yea. Then I zapped on the rest of my systems. Of course it people saw all my things on while the power was down, they would be suspicious so I fixed the power in the building too.”
“So it just sort of came to you... it just came naturally?” Yuki wondered. “Nothing strange happened?”
“Nope. Nothing out of the ordinary...” he answered them.
“Hmmm... so nothing strange with the appearance of powers...” the three took note. They continued to question Yuto.
~That night~
“Wow...” Ryosuke smiled as they entered the beach house. “Sweet...this looks pretty fun...” Loud music was playing, the place was filled with good looking guys and girls mingling with one another, snacks and games were everywhere. Rena looked around, “Sees like any other party... just better looking guys...”
“Hey, you made it.” she heard as the guy who invited her approached. He gave her a flirty smile, “Glad you could come.” She flirted back, “I hate to disappoint people... Cool party~!”
“Thanks. Let me show you around.” he smirked as he wrapped an arm around her leading her around. Ryosuke, on the other hand, made his way over to the group of girls and began flirting. A couple hours went by as flirting, mingling, and partying continued. When Ryosuke heard a loud slap. Everyone turned to see Rena slapping a guy.
“You dirty pervert... keep those disgusting hands to yourself!” she shouted at him as she began to storm out. But the guy grabbed her hand, “Hey, b***h! You're gonna pay--” Ryosuke glared at him as he stood up to help. When suddenly, the soda's next to them, exploded all over the guy.
“Ah! What the hell was that?!” he screamed angrily.
“Come on.” Ryosuke said pulling Rena outside. He sighed, “Way to ruin a party...”
“Hey, it wasn't my fault that guy was being all touchy with me. The pervert.” she answered angrily. “All men are pigs! Disgusting perverted pigs!”
“Gee... thanks.” he said giving her a look as they headed home.
