Anime Cipher Chapter 6: Another

Rating: M (due to language only)

Summary: 4 different stories all merge into one great adventure. Kiara Davis, a high school senior has no love greater than anime. But how will she react when some of her favorite anime characters are actually appearing in front of her own eyes? And not only that, but she gets pulled into their world as well! Could it be because of her own private code she created out of pure boredom? What is all this leading to?
“Easy, just don't let your mind wander too much.”Daiki stated as Kia told him about her adventure into the anime world the other day. He explained, “If your mind starts wandering around about all these animes, they'll eventually pull you in. And you'll be in any kind of situation. You could appear right in a battle, or even right before someone's death. We never know.”

“... so I can't even think about my favorite animes anymore?!” she groaned.

“You can. Just don't let it pull you in too much.” he answered. “Now... training.”She sighed, “Fine...”As she practiced she couldn't help but wonder, “Daiki?”

“Hm?”

“Since I've been getting to the anime world by letting my mind drift into it... is there possibly a safe way to get there?”she asked as he nodded, “Yea. You just really gotta focus on where you wanna go. If you were to focus on a safe place. You'll be there. Same goes for a dangerous place, but when you just let your mind wander...you can end up in different spots. Dangerous or safe.”

“Hmmm....” she thought, curiously as she closed her eyes. She began to think of the kingdom of Serenity. She could just imagine the castle, magically floating on top of the clouds. She could see the large stone wall right in front of her, doing its job of protecting the kingdom. The sounds of laughter and happiness coming from behind the large metal gate, which never opened to threats.

“KIA!” she suddenly heard as Daiki grabbed hold of her arm. She opened her eyes and asked, “What?”

“If you were gonna test it out you should've told me!” he groaned. “You were already vanishing right in front of me.”

“Oh... sorry.” she smiled as she then stared amazed at where they were. “We're right outside Serenity!!” She stared happily at the kingdom before her.

“Kia, we need to train--”

“Can we just explore a little?! Please!” she pleaded excitedly. He groaned, “Fine, but only for a little while. Get the gate open...” She thought, “The gate's magical though... will I be able to open it? It's only suppose to open for peaceful people....”

“Well, you're a peaceful person. It should open.”he stated as the two stood in front of the gate. She stared nervously at the gray metal gate, the strange designs were on it. She then realized what the images were. It was of the battle before Serenity had become what it is today. The bloody battle that the King had lost his life in to keep his kingdom safe. She could see the images playing right before her eyes. At that time, many were arrogant about their abilities, saying they were most powerful, wanting to rule over all the others. Many began standing up against the king, wanting to overthrow him, even though he was a peaceful man. They were all too power hungry to even think about what they were doing. However, some helped the king and fought back against those power hungry beings. It was a bloody battle. Blood. Wounds. Pain. Regret. Hardship. Death. This was all that happened in those bloody three years. The battle finally ended. The power hungry surrendered, but one managed to stab the King. The King had passed, but the power hungry had still lost the battle. Serenity was safe. And because of that battle... Serenity is now a peaceful place and any battles are to be done only by the guardians. And the Guardians can only battle in order to protect Serenity.

“Kia?” Daiki called as she touched the gate. She thought, “Some people still believe... that the King lives. To protect Serenity, his soul lives within these gates. That's what many people in Serenity believe makes this gate so magical. Their King is still protecting them through this--” She moved as they both heard the metal gate move. The loud screeching sound of it moving along the cemented ground below it as Kia both excited and happy that it had opened for them, rushed in with Daiki following slowly behind.

“Wow...” Kia smiled as she looked at all the happily people doing their daily work. Farmers herding sheep and plowing, merchants yelling to people passing by, trying to sell their wares, and even little children running around, enjoying themselves. Kia ran around just like those little children, enjoying everything she was seeing. She could smell the sweet aroma of some sweet shops as well as the salivating smell of the yummy steak house across the town. But then, she smelt something else. The bland aroma of hay as well as manure. Although its not pleasant like a delicious steak, she knew what that smell meant. She followed and and gleefully saw the horse stables.

“Wow!” she beamed as she rushed in. She saw all the horses, but then remembered. They were pegasi. The beautiful winged horses varied shapes and sizes. They were all enjoying the food they were eating as Kia stroked one's mane. This pegasus was the color of moonlight and had pretty marble-like eyes. His mane was so silky it felt like she could just lay her head on it and drift off into a relaxing sleep.

“Kia.” Daiki called as he entered the stables. “We should get going.”

“What?! But we haven't even seen the palace yet! I want to meet the Guardians!” she pouted. He told her, “Maybe some other time. Training is more important.” She sighed, “Yea... oh fine.” They began heading out as he said, “Kia... one more thing.”

“What?”

“Promise me you won't come here without me.” he asked.

“Why? It's perfectly safe--”

“To the anime world.” he said. “If you happen to get pulled in. Get out right away, but don't ever stay here too long without me.”She nodded, “But I could train--”

“Kia.”

“...Fine.” she sighed. He smiled, “Good. Now get us home.” He grabbed her arm as she thought of Daiki's place and they soon vanished from Serenity.

“Hello?! Someone's zoning out again!” Kia heard that chilly monday morning as she walked towards school. She sighed as her warm breath emerged from her mouth mixing with the cold air in front of her. She smiled, “Oburi, good morning.”

“Seriously, someone should learn to pick up her phone over the weekend.” she stated. “ I was calling you like every minute!” Kia thought back to that Friday evening as she was practicing some of her abilities. She was up in her tree house and tried to levitate her cell phone out of her room window to her, but when she lost her concentration, it dropped, breaking as it hit the ground.

“Sorry... it broke.”she stated.

“Well, you missed this!” Oburi said pulling out the newest volume of Missing Culprits from her backpack. Kia went wide-eyed as she grabbed the book from her and cheered, “YES~!!! I'm gonna read this ASAP!”

“Haha alright.” Oburi smiled. “But I swear, if you get it taken away by the teacher, I will kill you. Hakufu told me you have a reputation of reading in class and you've gotten caught a couple of times.”

“I only get caught rarely!” she laughed. “Don't worry about it.” Oburi sighed as they headed to class.

["Here he is, Detective Melody." the warden said as a man was pushed in. He stumbled in, but quietly took a seat in front of Karina. His hair was long and he looked really flimsy. He seemed so exhausted and zombie-like, making Karina think the prison was starving him to death. Behind his long light brown hair, she could see his eyes. His eyes ... Was telling her something. He may have been dressed in a prison orange jumpsuit with handcuffs as his only accessory, but just. By staring into his intense brown eyes, she could tell that there was a lot more to him than just that.

"So... Yabu Kota, right?" she asked. "I hear you know a lot about what goes on in this prison." A suspicious smirk appeared on his face, concluding he was not someone to take lightly.

"You could say that. Did you want some information?"

"You could say that." she mocked him. "I want to know about these disappearing prisoners.”

"If I help--"

"What do you get?" she finished. "truthfully nothing. Is there something you want?" his smirk grew as she told him, "I can't get you outta here---"

"I want to be your temporary partner." he interrupted. She gave him a weird look as he explained, "I'll help you with this case but while I'm helping you, I get to go everywhere with you until this case is over."

"And how do I know you'll keep your word?" she said unconvinced. "You're a criminal. The second we get out of this prison you could make an escape." He snickered, "haha I guess I could. But you're just gonna have to trust me. if you don't give into my end of the deal.. Then I won't b able to help you. The choice is yours."

"..." Karina sat there intensely gazing at Yabu, trying to figure out anything she can as he was intensely gazing back.

"Bring him back to his cell." Karina said standing up, ordering the guards. "Ask the Warden to bring me someone who will actually be of help."

"Yes Ma'am." the said grabbing ahold of him. He sighed, "Hmmm...you're a stubborn one, huh? Well, you know where to find me. I know well meet again." he was escorted out as The Warden entered, "Im not sure about the other prisoners... But I'm having the psychologist come in. She's spoken with many of the prisoners so she might have some information."

"Alright... Please bring her in." she said sighing. As he left, she thought, "That Kota could really be trouble for me.... But he sure knows what he's doing..."

"Detective..."she heard the Warden come in. This is the prison psychologist, Murakami Akako." a women walked in with a small smile formed on her pale face. Her messy black hair was all over the place as she apologize, " Sorry about my appearance... I've Been up all night trying to figure out about these missing prisoners."

"Its fine...." Karina answered. "Can you please tell me what you know about these missing prisoners?"

"I'd love to help." she smiled. "If you like to come to my office, I have a records of the prisoners and we can compare them."

"That would be useful..." Karina said as they began heading off.]

“Ow.” Kia whispered as Hakufu gave her a slight kicked and looked towards the front of the classroom. Kia turned to see her teacher checking the students work. She quickly put the book down and took out a paper and began writing as he passed by and continued to the rest of the class.

“*sigh* Thanks...” she sighed as she looked at Hakufu. She then pulled the book out again as Hakufu took it away from her.

“You'll get it back after class.”

“Awww... come on Hakufu. I didn't get caught.” Kia pouted, but Hakufu just continued to work. She sighed and decided to listen as the teacher began lecturing.

~

“Can I please have it back now?” Kia bugged Hakufu as the two and Oburi left first period.“Can I have it back now? Can I have it back now? Can I have it back now?”

“Will you shut up if I give it to you?!” she groaned annoyed as Oburi just giggled at her persistence. Kia nodded angelically as Hakufu sighed, handing over the manga. Kia cheered, “Wohoo~!! Must finish!” She began reading as she walked when they heard, “And she's at it again. We really should find a way to cut down on the amount of your fangirling...”

“I agree.” Hakufu stated.

“Come on... you can't stop her from loving what she loves the most.” Oburi stated. Daiki walked with them as he said, “Yea, but if its for her health and safety...” he quickly pulled her to the side to stop her from walking into a door. “Then it's needed.”

“Good point I guess...” she stated. She grabbed the book as Kia panicked, “WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?! OBURI!!! YOU OF ALL PEOPLE?! DON'T YOU WANT ME TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS?!”

“First, calm down.” Oburi told her. “Second, you can find out after school. We can fangirl then rather than you getting detention for reading in class...” Kia pouted as they continued on towards class when suddenly Kia froze. Right before her stood Yukio and the Triads. Oburi and Hakufu continued walking as Oburi sighed, “We better hurry if we want to make it to class...”

“Shoot... I forgot something in class.” Daiki said, “Kia, come with me... we'll catch up to you two in a minute.” Hakufu nodded as Oburi said, “Alright. See ya.”They walked right through Kyoko and Ronin as Yukio smirked, “So... the little girl was a Sight... hmm, a new toy to play with.” The school began to fade as they all stood now in the Triad's forest.

“This will be fun.” Kyoko beamed as she turned into mist.

“Kia!” Daiki called as she nodded. She quickly lifted up her sleeves as she yelled, “Freeze!” The words glowed on her arm as the mist froze and dropped on the ground cracking into pieces as Kyoko slowly formed back together, unconscious. She smiled, “Hey! I knocked her out--” She was then hit away as Yukio smirked, “Lucky hit. But you're forgetting the rest of us-”

“You're forgetting me.” Daiki said as he punched him in his gut. Yukio groaned in pain, surprised at his speed as he yelled, “Ronin! Ryuichi! Don't just stand there!” The twins pulled into action as Kia then yelled, “Summon! Swords!” Two swords appeared in her hand as she tossed one to Daiki, just as he blocked Ryuichi's blade.

“Wha...” Kia notice that her blade was fading. She then remembered. “Right... Ronin can enhance and negate powers... but at a distance....” She quickly moved as far away from him as she could and then yelled, “Freeze!” He had frozen in place, stuck in a barrier of ice. She smiled, “Two down, two--” she jumped back as Yukio's sai hit the frozen Ronin, breaking him out of the ice.

“Scratch that...” she sighed as Yukio and Ronin approached her. Just as she was about to attack, Ronin's shadow had caught her own, trapping her in that one spot. She then called, “Daiki! I could use a little help over here...”

“A little busy!” he groaned when suddenly Ryuichi blew up, knocking Daiki away, unconscious. She yelled, “Daiki!!” She struggled to get out of Ronin's hold but she couldn't. “Crap...”

“Hm, and I thought this would be fun.” Yukio sighed. “I guess you're still a newbie Sight, just like the first. Well, guess now, there's only 3 Sights left to get rid of...”Yukio went to strike when something hit him away. A strike was also aimed at Ronin, making him lose his hold on Kia.

“Wha...” she looked as she heard, “Hey again.”

“Hikaru!” she beamed. “You're here again...” she trailed off as she heard Yukio glared, “Who the hell are you?!”She looked to see her mysterious savior for last time, there again, striking at Yukio with his staff. Yukio backed away, dodging as he glared, “Damn it... Ronin!” But just before he could assist him, Hikaru had blocked him, and began to strike. Kia just watched the two battle in amazement as she then remembered, “Oh! Daiki!”She rushed to his side and shook him a bit, but he was completely out of it.

“Daiki, come on! You've got to see this!”she stated, looking again. When suddenly she realized something. The mysterious one had something written on his arm. You could barely see it, since he had sleeves covering it, but it was too familiar for Kia not to recognize right away. The mysterious one stopped striking Yukio as he, Ronin, and their two knocked out companions were all together. He then said, “Vanish.” And before she knew it. The villains were gone.

“... He's a Sight...” Kia said amazed staring at him.
