Anime Cipher Chapter 9: Infiltrating the Enemy's Lair

Rating: M (due to language only)
Summary: 4 different stories all merge into one great adventure. Kiara Davis, a high school senior has no love greater than anime. But how will she react when some of her favorite anime characters are actually appearing in front of her own eyes? And not only that, but she gets pulled into their world as well! Could it be because of her own private code she created out of pure boredom? What is all this leading to?
“Aoki!” she heard the prince shout over a loud blast. She quickly dodged as a large Kirst flew over her head. She quickly summoned a gun and begun blasting them away from Kei as she said, “Your highness, what now? We can’t keep this up forever!” Yuya soon appeared nearby as he gritted, grabbing his bleeding shoulder, “The moon just emerged a few hours ago. At this rate, we’ll be Kirst-dinner in no time.” Kei took a glance around as he said, “Yuya, we need you to distract them for a few seconds. I’ll get away with Aoki and you phase outta here---”

“Get down!” Aoki knocked him down as a blast went over their heads.”We need to act now!”

“Go! Get the prince out!” Yuya order as she nodded, but just as they went to escape, an explosive went off throwing them back. “Aoki! Prince Kei!”

“Heh, fell into that trap like a bee to honey...” Yuya heard as he gritted, “How didn’t I sense you guys appear?”

“I guess Ronin managed to diminish your powers enough not to sense us approaching.” Kyoko smirked, with the twins standing behind her. Ryuichi laughed, “This is gonna be easy!” He eyed the prince viciously, “I’ll have fun rearranging your face!” He easily dodged the attack Aoki threw at him with her scythe as it began to fade away. She glared at Ronin’s ability as she called, “Now what?”

“Now... it’s the end for you!” Kyoko laughed turning into mist, charging right at the three vulnerable guardians with the twins and Kirst right behind her.

“Not on my watch!” they heard. “Freeze!” Kyoko’s mist form froze and shatter into pieces on the ground as she reformed unconscious. A blast of light sent Ronin flying away and the earth shook into a cage, trapping Ryuichi into it. “Kei! Aoki! Yuya! Hurry! Over here!” They looked to see a familiar girl with three companions... one who happened to be a close friend.

“HIKARU?!” Aoki called surprised as he shouted, “Explanations later, running now! Come on!” They quickly ran, with the Kirst chasing after them.

~

“... they’re gone.” Yuto said as he, Hakufu, and Kia stopped holding up their invisible barrier.
“Hikaru where have you been?!” Aoki scolded her best friend. “Don’t you know how worry we’ve been since your disappearance?! Why haven’t you tried to get back to us--”

“Aoki.” he stopped her with a smile. “One question at a time. Look, after what happened with my last battle with the triads, I was given a special mission.” He motioned to Yuto, “To guide and protect this Sight.”

“The Sights?” Kei turned to them, hope in his eyes. “You three... you three are the sights?” Kia, Hakufu, and Yuto nodded. “That’s great! We could really use your help right now. The other Guardians are trapped within the Traid’s barriers.”

“Ok, tell us any details you know.” Kia told him as Yuya said, “Their places resides in the center of the Forest. But the Kirst surrounds it. They’ve been working hand in hand with that Yukio fellow.” Kia thought, “So the animes are joined together now...”

“What?” they gave her questioning looks as she tried to explain, “Well... your world and the world Yukio’s from have come together. Which is suppose what we Sights are suppose to fix.. I think...” She began. “Look, all I know is that we need to save your friends. We don’t know how long they plan to keep them around.”

“Then leave it to me and Hikaru.” Yuto said bluntly getting up. “We can get in there in no time and get them out just as easily.” Kia glared, “This is a team effort, Yuto--”

“I don’t work with a team.” he stated. “I barely even work with Hikaru. We can handle this ourselves...” He began heading out as Hikaru sighed, “He’s pretty stubborn about that. Don’t take it to heart.” She glared, “Fine. Go if you want, but you’re only going to get caught. You’re really underestimating the Kirst and the Triads.”

“It’s nothing I can’t handle--”

“But you at least need Kia there.” Hakufu spoke up as everyone turned to her. She explained, “Kia’s an anime freak. She knows the forest here like the back of her hand I bet. Not to mention she knows about the abilities of the Triads. Maybe even weaknesses.”

“Not to mention... she’s always ranting on about the Kirst.” she turned to Kia expectantly. “If anyone were to lead this mission, I think she would be the best choice.” She smiled, “Thanks for the vote of confidence, Hakufu.” She gave Yuto a smug look as Hikaru smiled, “She could have useful information...”

“Fine. I’ll give you a chance to prove your worth.” he sat back down. “You’d better not waste it.” She ignored his comment as she grabbed a stick and started doodling in the dirt as everyone crowded around her. She took a glance around the forest and pointed, “Okay. Here’s where we are... and the center is there. I’m pretty sure that barely a few miles from us so we can get there in less than twenty minutes. But... our biggest problem are the enemies.” She grabbed a few rocks placing them around the center. “Here’s the Kirst. They’re easy to handle during the day. As soon as sunrise comes, they turn into the most cutest lovable creatures you will ever meet. Don’t fall for their cuteness... but that cuteness, give us the advantage to get through.” She placed another rock in the center of the forest diagram she drew.

“Yukio, will be a lot tougher.” she thought about it. “He’s... playful. As in like a lion playing with a mouse before he eats it. So be careful of him. He’s experienced with shurikens and his sais, so he can attack from long range as well.” She then placed three more rocks, “And finally the triads.”

“Not as tricky as Yukio, but definitely as dangerous.” she figured. “Kyoko, the lead of the team with sublimation powers. Basically turning herself or anything she wants into mist. Ryuichi, the louder more obnoxious twin has the explosive abilities and Ronin, the silent one, is one of the rare people with two abilities: enhancing or diminishing one’s abilities and shadow manipulation.” Everyone nodded at her explanation as she thought, ‘“I predict that the best time to strike would be at sunrise. Kirst would be out of the way. Guardians, if you can manage to distract the Triad and our lone wolf Yuto here can keep Yukio busy. Hakufu and I can get the other Guardians free.”

“Brilliant.” Kei beamed. “I must say, I’m really impressed... Kia was it?” She giggled, “Yup.”

“How do you know so much about all of this?” he wondered as she smiled, “Heh, well I am a Sight, aren’t I?” She turned to everyone, “We need to act fast though. If I know Yukio and the Triad as well as I think I do, they’ll know we’ll want to strike when the Kirst are out of the way.”

“We have a full amount of daylight-”

“Sunrise will be when they least expect it.” Aoki said. “It’s early. Right when the Kirst loses their tougher form. I know Kyoko. She would probably be getting her beauty sleep that eariler.”

“And that would surprise her. Leaving Ronin and Ryuichi on guard duty.” Yuya stated. “As soon as Ronin senses us though we’re gonna have trouble because of his ability to diminish our ability.”

“Then I think Yuto should take care of that.” Kia stated as he glared, “Why the hell am I getting that job?”

“Because you’re more experienced, and as soon as you take care of him, the rest of us can get in, get the other Guardians, and then get out.” she explained.

“Then you can go back to your lone wolf status again.” He pondered the thought and gave in, “Fine. I’ll take care of Ronin and then Yukio. But you had better be fast. I can’t handle spending any more time with annoying pest like you.” She gritted angrily, clenching her fist, “Fine... I’ll be quick about it.”
“Then we strike at sunrise.” Kei confirmed as they all nodded.

“Ready?” Kia thought in her mind as she and the others were spread around the Triads’ barrier. They were communicating through a telepathic link that Yuto had set up for them. Yuto replied, “Yeah. Give me another place to teleport this Ronin guy too. I don’t know anything about the anime world.”

“Just teleport him to... within the pits of darkness in the Dark forest.” she remembered. “Not impossible to escape, but definitely a lot of work to get out of.” He thought, “Give me an image.” She thought about it as he nodded, “Okay. On the count of three, he’ll vanish and we’ll charge, got it?” Everyone nodded. “1... 2... 3!” Ronin vanished as Ryuichi jumped, “Ronin--” Yuya tackled him down, phasing him halfway into the wall of their home. “Shit!”

“Go ahead, explode yourself free, but you knock down your entire place.” he smirked as they rushed into it, where dozen of cute little Kirst were. Their circular jello like bodies made them seem to slither around, but their big cute eyes is what really made them adorable..

“Awww... they are cute.” Hakufu looked at them as Kia snapped, “Hey, focus. No cuteness right now. She pulled out a pen in her pocket as she scribbled and said, “Locate Mai--”

“Get down!” Kei knocked her down as a sai flew right at her.

“Yuto! You’re suppose to be on watch for him!” Kia gritted as she noticed that he had already managed to pin Yukio down. “Never mind--” He got up, knocking Yuto down as he gritted, “Hurry up!”

“Oh right!” she said. “Locate! Mai Chiba!” As the code on her arm glowed, a light emerged and took off in a direction. “Hakufu, Kei, Aoki, watch my back. Yuya, Hikaru stick with Yuto and watch his back.” They all nodded and separated.

~

“This way--” she ducked as Kyoko suddenly materialized in front her, but she managed to knock down Hakufu.

“Ah! Kia!” Hakufu groaned in pain as she apologized, “My bad---” Aoki pushed her out of the way as she struck Kyoko back with her claymore. “I got this. You guys go ahead!” They nodded as Kia rushed after the light, not wanting to lose it. She called back, “Hakufu! You got some codes ready right? Just in case?” She nodded, “Yeah. Why?”

“Defensive?”

“Sure do.” she replied as Kia nodded, “Good. Kei, be on your guard. Have something prepared.” He nodded as she said, “We’re getting close. I can feel it...” She trailed off as the light went right through a door. She thought and scribbled on her arm, “X-Ray. Door.” The door light up a bit, as it suddenly became transparent. Within it, Mai, Ryosuke, Rena, and Yuri were trapped within a prison cell. But that wasn’t it, within another prison cell were...

“Wow... Tsubasa, Kyoumi, and Ryutaro!” Kia lit up as she entered to place. Kei quickly headed over to the other Guardians as they yelled, “Stop!”

“What?! We’re trying to help!” Kei said.

“They rigged the area of the prison cell with explosives. One wrong move and we all explode.” Rena stated.

“Mai, you can get everyone out right?” Kia thought as she shook her head, “This cell is like Ronin. No use of power.” Ryosuke asked, “Where’s Yuya? He can get past all this--” A loud commotion was approaching as Kia thought, “We better make this quick. Kei, can you put a protective shield around everyone?”

“I can try, but I don’t know how strong the explosive are.” he said.

“Then, we’ll add an extra layer.” Hakufu said as Kia nodded. “The three layers should be able to keep the explosive away from them.” Kei nodded, “Then lets do this...” He focused as a barrier made of energy stood strongly around the captives. The two took a step back, trying to get back out the door, hoping it was out of the blast zone. Kia quickly scribbled the code as did Hakufu and they yelled,
“Protection! Barrier!” A barrier formed around Kei’s energy barrier as Kia kept her focus on the barrier, she grabbed a small pebble on the ground and threw it towards them. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

“URGH!” Kei, Hakufu, and Kia stood strong, not letting the power of the blast knock them down as they stayed concentrating on their barriers. Soon, the debris faded as both Hakufu’s and Kia’s barrier had slowly diminished away, but Kei’s managed to protect them. The barrier dropped as they quickly rushed out only to see Hakufu knocked out and Kia barely conscious.

“We better get outta here. Fast.” Ryutaro said as Kei nodded, carrying Hakufu in his arms. “Before reinforcements come.”

“I got ya.” Mai and Yuri helped Kia walk. She groaned, “Reinforcements? Urgh... the kirst are weak right now...”

“Not them... THEM!” Rena pointed to a group of escaped convicts as Kia tried to get a glimpse, “Those... they’re the missing prisoners from Adeth prison... the one Karina is looking for--”

“Just get moving!” Rena ordered. “Well hold--”

“No.” Kei said handing, Rysouke Hakufu. “You all have been here long enough. Get out now!” Yuri argued, “But your high-”

“Now!” he ordered as the convicts charged and he made a huge shield to block them away from the others. “Get moving!” Tsubasa, now with her bow and quiver of arrows, nodded, “I’ll have his back.” She readied an arrow as she told them, “Get moving while you can. I don’t want to be here any longer than you guys do.”

“You had better be right behind us.” Ryutaro said as she nodded. They all began running out as they soon saw Aoki handing Kyoko.

“Aoki! Let’s go!” Yuri called to her as she nodded, “Mai, give me a hand.” Yuri took Kia as she focused and managed to teleport Kyoko away.” Kia then remembered, “Guys, huddle. As soon as Kei and Tsubasa catch up, Mai... you can teleport us out right?”

“I should, but there’s a lot of us. I might have to make two trips.” she said. Kia answered, “I still got some energy in me. I can take a few.” She thought in her head, “Yuto... we’re gonna teleport out. Make sure you, Hikaru, and Yuya get out safely got it?”

“I know what the plan is.” he said annoyed. “Meet at the rendezvous point.” She nodded as she told them, “The others will be there.” Kyoumi said, “Kia, go first. You’re low on energy.” She nodded as she said, “Hold onto me.” Kyoumi held her arm, as she held onto Ryosuke with Hakufu. On Kia’s other side, Yuri held onto Aoki and she had Ryutaro.

“I’ll take the rest then.” Mai said. “As soon as Kei and Tsubasa get back--”

“Guys! I said to get going!” Kei approached as Mai said, “And we’re off.”

“See you out there.” Kia said as she concentrated on the rendezvous point.

“Teleport.” And they were gone.

~

“Oh, really?” Yuto groaned as he saw both Kia and Hakufu knocked out. “These newbies overused the code.”

“Overused?” Kyoumi asked. He explained, “USing the code requires a lot of energy. When they use the code too much, they end up like that... unconscious.” Kei answered, “They got everyone out safely. That was the main objective.”

“Yeah, and I’ve done my part.” Yuto said heading off. Hikaru sighed, following as Aoki called, “Hikaru, where are you going?” He answered, “I was asked to guide and protect him. I need to stick with him.”

“Not just him.” Yuri said. “All the sights are suppose to stick together. And we need to help them. Right, your highness?” Kei nodded as he explained, “The Sights are the only ones who can stop what’s happening between our worlds, and restore order between them. By stopping the pipers from succeeding with their plans.”

“Which are what exactly?” Tsubasa questioned.

“I dunno.” he answered. “I don’t have all the answers. All I know is that the Sights are the key.”

“Look, I can handle the Pipers on my own.” Yuto said. “If you want to help those two newbies try to stop them, be my guest. Just don’t get in my way.” He began heading off as he said, “You don’t need to come Hikaru. You can stick around.”

“... I’m sticking with you Yuto.” he said strongly. He pondered it as he sighed, “Then lets get going-”

“What about them?” Hikaru said, turning to Kia and Hakufu. “We should at least bring them home.” He groaned, “Urgh... they’re really getting on my nerves.... fine.” Hikaru took Hakufu as Yuto picked up Kia. Mai then asked, “Wait. Where will we be able to find you all?”

“Them... not me.” Yuto stated. Hikaru answered, “They’ll know to find you when they wake up. I’ll leave them a note to meet you all at Serenity Castle.” He looked at Ryutaro, Tsubasa, and Kyoumi. “I hope you’ll all stick with the Guardians until we figure out a plan to go about the Pipers.” They nodded as Yuto called, “Hikaru! Let’s go... she’s heavy.” They soon vanished as Tsubasa sighed, “So I guess we’re sticking around.”

“Just one thing on my mind right now...” Ryutaro thought. “Where’s Rikia and Keito?”
