Anime Cipher Chapter 7: Not Double Trouble... But Triple

Rating: M (due to language only)

Summary: 4 different stories all merge into one great adventure. Kiara Davis, a high school senior has no love greater than anime. But how will she react when some of her favorite anime characters are actually appearing in front of her own eyes? And not only that, but she gets pulled into their world as well! Could it be because of her own private code she created out of pure boredom? What is all this leading to?
“... He's a Sight...” Kia said amazed staring at him. Hikaru smiled to his partner, “Well... that was easy-”

“Let's go.” he said heading off as Kia called, “W-wait!” But he vanished as Hikaru followed after. Kia just thought and soon, she and Daiki were back at school.

~

“Hmmm... what did he look like?” Daiki thought as Kia explained as the two sat in the nurse's room. She answered, “Well... he had black, kinda shaggy like hair... he was really tall and dressed in all black. Um, I dunno, he was really fast so I didn't see much. But I know who his partner is!”

“Who?”

“Hang on...” she said as she pulled out her school binder. She pointed to one of the anime characters covering her binder cover. “This guy. Yaotome Hikaru. He's from Aluna. The head knight and Prince Kei's best friend. He has the power of producing sound waves.”

“Okay. It seems like his partner is the Sight's biggest lead.” Daiki concurred. “He must be experienced. If he's already using his powers so successfully and for me to not be able to locate him... he might know how to cover his trace as well.”

“... Hey... you haven't taught me that.” Kia pouted. “That should've been lesson 1! At least then, the Pipers wouldn't be able to find me so often!”
“Yea, but its complicated...” he thought as he then remembered, “But it should be simple for a sight...”

“I'm sure I can handle it.” she smiled. “Just tell--”

“Hey!” they heard as they turned to the door. Oburi came in as she smiled, “Seriously Daiki. I swear you're always in here.”

“Heh. And it's always Kia to blame.” he teased as she defended, “Hey! Why are you blaming me?!”

“Well it is your fault that door rammed into my face...” he stated. “You could've used less force.”Oburi gave her a look, “You slammed a door on Daiki's face?!” She shook her head, “No! I merely opened it and he put his face in front of it!”The two continued to go at each other as Oburi sighed, “You two never change... Come on. Didn't you want to fangirl, Kia?” The second she pulled out Missing Culprits, Kia grabbed it happily, “YES! Come on, Oburi! Let's go!”

“Forgetting someone?” Daiki questioned as he got out of the bed.
“Hmmm? Where's Hakufu?” she thought as Daiki gave her a look, “I meant me..”

“She went ahead. Had some studying to do.”Oburi said. Daiki sighed, “Well, I'll leave you two fangirls to your manga. See you guys, tomorrow.”

~

[“Hmmm...” Karina stared at each of the missing criminals as Akako laid all the files out. “Nothing's adding up. All of these criminals have different qualities. Strength... intelligence... stealth. Each apprehended for various crimes, robberies, murders... nothing seems to be clicking... They don't have a connection at all.”

“Well, I don't think I can be of much help, detective...”

“What about in their sessions with you? Are they all having the same sort of problem?” she questioned. Akako responded, “Sorry detective. As a psychologist, I'm unable to discuss anything I have talked about with my clients.”

“Right...” she sighed. There was silence as Akako asked, “Is there anything else I may be able to help you with?”

“Yes. I want to see Yabu Kota's file.” she stated. “And... ask the warden to bring him to me. We have some matters to discuss.”]

~

“WHAT?!!!” Kia said starring at the last page of the book. “WHERE'S THE REST?!!!”
“Haha, obviously in the next volume.” Oburi told her. “Seriously, you have the best reaction ever!” Kia ignored her comment, “NOOO! I MUST KNOW! DOES SHE TEAM UP WITH YABU OR NOT?!! WILL KARINA FIND OUT HOW THEY'RE ESCAPING?!!! WHAT'S GOING ON?!!!!”

“Calm down Kia.. the next volume will be out in two weeks.” she stated as Kia sighed, “That's way too long from now...”Oburi gave her a look, “Seriously? You really do need to cut down on the anime. You're too addicted.” She laughed, “Ha, I guess I am. But it's what I love. You can't stop me form loving it.”

“Very true. Just don't let it get in the way of your health and education.” she warned. “Or as your friends, Daiki, Hakufu, and I will be forced to confiscate everything anime related thing you have.”

“....” she starred speechless as Oburi gave her a serious look, “I swear we will. This is not a bluff...”

“Ok, ok...” she pouted. “I won't.”She looked at her watch, “Damn... it got late so fast. I better head home.” Oburi nodded, “oh, before I forget. Tomorrow's friday so I wanted to hang out. Hakufu's cool with it as long as we don't do anything weird... So I was thinking karaoke or the movies.”

“Why not both?” she smiled. “I'm in. I'll let Daiki know too ok?”

“Heh, you two are inseparable you know that?” she beamed. Kia smiled, “What can I say? He's my best friend--” She froze as an image of Rayna popped into her mind. The happy smile she once shared with Kia as the two hung out together, every day in her tree house. Oburi, noticing her sudden change asked, “Kia? You alright?”

“Y-Yea... I'm fine. See ya tomorrow.” she said a bit shaky as she began heading home. As she walked as thought, “Damn... how could I forget... I've been having too much fun with my new friends... and Daiki.” She starred up at the starry night sky. “How long has it been... since I last saw you, Ray? 6 months? It's almost the end of the school year... and still no sign of you.”She sighed and then an idea hit her. She quickly rushed home as she ran right into her room, grabbing a pen and quickly scribbling on her arm, “Search! Rayna Valentine!” As the code glowed on her arm, some kind of gas began to emerge from it. The gas began to circle around until it formed into a portal like figure. However, all the portal showed was fog.

“What?” she said confused. She thought, “Search! Daiki Arioka!” The fog thickened, but eventually began showing images. Daiki was in his room, working on their math assignment. She then tried again, “Search! Rayna Valentine!” The fog shifted again, Daiki disappearing from sight as fog took his place. But nothing formed after.

“What the hell?! Show me Rayna!!! Where is she?!” She growled furiously. “What the hell is wrong with this code?!” She continued to try it, but for some reason, Rayna wouldn't pop up. Oburi, Hakufu, her classmates, they all popped up on the portal, but Rayna...

“Man.. not even my powers can find her!” she groaned, worn out from the constant use of her powers. That's when something else hit her. “The other Sight!”However, nothing appeared. “Hmmm... maybe I need to be specific. She remembered his partner.

“Search! Yaotome Hikaru!” the fog shifted and soon an image appeared. Within a building, looking much like a hotel room, Hikaru was sitting on a bed watching TV as he said, “Hey, so what's our next move? Or are we waiting for the Pipers to strike first again?” A cool, calm voice answered, “We find them and wait for an opening. Then we finish them off.”

“Always right to the point...” he sighed, turning the TV off. “So after some sleep, we move?”
“Yea. Be sure to rest up. We need the energy.” the voice answered, soon coming into view. The familiar shaggy hair was now wet, his skinny arms holding a towel on his head, drying off the wet hair. His tall body, seated itself on the bed next to Hikaru's as he said, “Hey... what do you know of the other sight?” Kia perked up at the sound of being mentioned.

“Not much...” Hikaru thought. “I know she definitely knows about anime. She knew about me.. and the fighters I ran into a few months ago.”

“So she might also have intel on the Pipers?” he thought.

“Definitely. She knew of the Kirst. The alien-like things the fighters were avoiding.” he answered. Hikaru thought, “She's also a newbie. Freaking out at every battle...”

“I do not!” Kia shouted, but of course they didn't hear her.

“Hmmm... the only use she'd be to me is her intel... and I could always find out about the Pipers through the mangas and animes...” the mysterious guy sighed, laying down. Hikaru nodded, “Definitely, but you know how long those things can get? You should seek her as an ally.”

“True... but I'd rather not have someone else to worry about.” he answered. Hikaru sighed, “It's all up to you Yuto. But you should know. The Sights are meant to work together... at least, that's what I was told...”

“By Alvador right?” the guy, Yuto as Hikaru called him ask. “When did you see him?”

“Well, I didn't actually...” he thought. “After Ryuichi blew up next to me, I thought for sure I was dead. When I came to, I wasn't sure where I was, there was just light, everywhere I looked. Then thoughts ran through my head. Sights, Alvador, the other world, the Pipers. And an image of you. A thought came to me. 'Guide and protect.'”

“And then...”

“Well, when I came to, I was on the shores of Japan. Here in the human world. Eventually I found you and began training you with all that I knew or at least was told.”he explained. Yuto sighed, “Almost a year ago...” Hikaru nodded, “You know... how if an anime character leaves here, the human world... everyone who knew them begins to lose memory of them?” Yuto nodded. “I wonder if that happens vice versa. Have my friends back at Aluna forgotten me?”

“It has been a long time sine you've been there...”Yuto thought. “They all probably think you're dead...”

“Yea. I guess that's good... but the Triad knows I'm alive because our last battle...” Hikaru stated. Yuto was silent and then said, “Hey. How about we start our plan in Aluna?” Hikaru gave him a surprised look as he continued, “After all... that's the one place I still haven't checked out.”Hikaru nodded happily as the portal soon faded. Kia laid on her floor exhausted. She groaned, “Urgh... why the hell am I so tired... I've got to tell Daiki...”But then, everything went black.

~

“Urgh...” Kia groaned as she saw she was still sleeping on her floor. She sat up a bit dazed as she rubbed her eyes, “Ugh... how long was I out..” She look towards her clock. Trying to make out the numbers, but it was still a bit of a blur. When her vision finally came to, she panicked. 9:45am.

“I'M LATE FOR SCHOOL!!!” she freaked out as she quickly changed and grabbed her school bag. She ran out of her room screaming, “Mom! Why didn't you wake me up?!”

“You're still here?! You were so quiet, I thought you already left.” she stated surprised as she saw her. Kia grabbed an apple from the kitchen and said, “I'll just run. It's the quickest way to go right now.”

“Alright. Be careful!” her mom said as she rushed outta the house. As she ran a thought occurred to her, “hey... maybe the code can get me to school--” The memory of last night flooded into her mind. Hikaru. Yuto. Sight. Aluna. Morning.

“Oh, no! I might have missed them!” she said agitated. “Doesn't hurt to check...” She quickly scribbled on her arm, “Teleport! Aluna!”And soon, she stood outside of the large gates once again. “Please still be here--”An arrow flew past her, hitting the gate as she pulled it out. “Something tells me, there's a high chance he is here...”

“FIRE!” she heard as she rushed into the forest. There she saw Ronin and Ryuichi in battle with Hikaru and the Sight, Yuto. But they weren't doing too well. Ronin had a hold of Yuto's shadow and because of Ronin's power augmentation, Hikaru could barely use his powers against Ryuichi. The most he could do was fight with his sword.

“Guess it's up to me.” Kia said quickly jotting down a few codes on her arm. She then stood up and yelled, “Pause.” Everything froze around her as she smirked, “Not bad Kia... not bad at all.” She quickly approached Ronin and said, “Vanish.” In a second, he was gone. She headed over to Ryuichi, when suddenly everything began moving again.

“What the-” Yuto said surprised as Kia shocked, “What?! Why'd it stop?! It was working perfectly fine a second again!”

“What did you do?!” Yuto quickly asked as he pulled her away to avoid Hikaru and Ryuichi's sword fight.

“I just froze time to get rid of them--”
“God... don't you know that it will only last for a few minutes?!” he groaned. She pouted, “Hey. I just save your ass so don't you be groaning at me!” He glared, “I didn't need your help-”

“Well I do!” they heard Hikaru say as he was knocked down.

“Teleport!” Kia sighed before Yuto could say anything. Ryuichi vanished, but appeared a few meters away. “What?!”

“Stupid! You have to say where you want them to teleport!” Yuto growled. “Vanish.” Ryuichi was gone as she smiled, “Nice-” But they were gone. She pouted, “Geez, just leave without saying goodbye?! JERK!”

~

“Someone overslept again didn't she?” she heard as she rushed into school during passing period. Oburi beamed, “I think the new episode of Aluna is showing on Saturday... so what kept you up late?”

“Nothing...” she sighed. “I dunno what happened. I knocked out early last night, but I was so exhausted this morning.”

“Let me guess...” Hakufu said softly. “Manga?”

“Not even.” she stated. “You guys see Daiki around?”Oburi shook her head, “Nope. Haven't seen him at all...”

“I think he's sick.” Hakufu said. “He called me earlier. Sounded like he had a cold.”

“Oh, well.” Kia sighed. “Guess that can't be helped. Maybe we should check up on him?”Oburi smiled, “Sure, right before we go to the movies.” They quickly rushed off to class as the bell rang.

~

“Daiki~!” Kia called as the three knocked on his door. “Hey! Wake up!”

“Kia... come on. He's sick. At least be a little considerate.”Oburi gave her a look. She smiled, “I am being considerate. At least I'm knocking softly rather than banging loudly.” Hakufu shrugged, “She makes a good point.” They three waited, but there was no one responding to their knocking.

“Maybe he's sleeping?”

“Daiki!” Kia yelled. “Come on! Are you that sick?!” Still no answer. Oburi sighed, “Well, I guess we should go... Feel better Daiki! We'll see you on Monday.”

~

“Encore~! Encore~!” Kia cheered as Oburi finished her song. She giggled, “Haha, thanks Kia. You're up, Hakufu.”

“I'll pass.” she said.

“Come on! Don't be a party pooper.” Kia pouted. She shrugged, “What's the point anyway? we only have like 2 minutes left or we get charged another hour.”

“Good point.” Oburi said, “We should get going.”They packed up their stuff and headed out as they walked around downtown. Kia asked, “So what should we do now? Shop around? Get some snacks?”

“Relax in your treehouse?” Hakufu suggested as Kia giggled, “Later! We can do that after we shop a bit around.”That's when something caught Oburi's attention, “KIA!” She pointed as Kia's eyes sparkled, “An anime merchandise shop! Let's go---”

“No. I said no weird places.” Hakufu said quickly. Kia pouted, “PLEASE?! COME ON, HAKUFU!!! PRETTY PLEASE WITH A CHERRY ON TOP!”She groaned, “If you stop that annoying pleading then fine. But I'm waiting outside.”

“WOHOO!” she and Oburi cheered as they rushed for the door. But just as Kia was about to run in someone had walked right in front of her, causing her to collide into him.

“OW!” the guy groaned as they both fell to the ground.

“Ow... Sorry about that...” Kia sighed getting up slowly after rubbing her side that she had landed on. “It was---” She froze as did the guy she had bumped into. However his friend smiled, “Ah, you again. We always seem to bump into each other at the most random moments.”

“Hikaru...”she said as he nodded, “Glad you remembered me. But I never got your name...” However she was already looking back at the guy she had run into. He shook his shaggy neck length black hair out of his face as he stood up. He stood taller than Hikaru as he gave a bored look, “Come on. Let's go, Hikaru.”

“Wait-” Kia began as she heard, “Kia, you alright?” Hakufu approached as she nodded and turned back and said, “You're... Yuto right?” He turned appalled at her, “How did you--” He stopped as he looked around.

“GET DOWN!” he suddenly yelled, pushing Kia out of the way as a Sai landed in the last place she stood. Yukio soon formed as he smirked, “And the Sights are back. Looks like the party's starting... Get ready to dance!” He charged at Yuto as he easily dodged. They two kept going at each other as Hikaru said, “Hey! A little help over here!” She notice that Hikaru had gotten trapped in Ronin's shadow.

“I got you!” she said as she speed over. She glance over the codes written on her arm and said, “Darkness!” The sun in the sky was soon completely cover as Hikaru moved away. Kia then yelled, “Light~!” As the clouds went away and Ronin adjusted his eyes back, a fist came in contact with his face.

“OWWW!!!! Kia groaned as she grasped her fist. It had turned red from the impact. “Ow! What the hell?! It looks so cool in animes but it hurts soooo much!”

“Hey! Stop goofing around!” Yuto yelled at her.

“I'm not--” she was suddenly pushed as Hikaru swung his sword at the misty air appearing behind her. Kyoko soon formed as she smirked, “Hmmm. I thought we got rid of you.”

“You thought wrong.”Hikaru smirked as he went for her. That's when Kia saw that Ryuichi was coming for her. She thought as she looked around. She saw the familiar wrecked villages as she said, “We're in Scroll Quest. This is... the village of Ikaro. Kyoumi's home...” Then she remembered something. The river not to far from the village. As both Ryuichi and Ronin inched closer to her she quickly spotted the river and said, “Water~!” The water moved to her will and splashed the two as she then said, “Freeze!” The two were trapped in an icy barrier as she smiled, “I'm getting better at this--”

“Kia?! What the hell...” she heard as a surprise look grew on her face. Hakufu stared at her looking scared as she stuttered, “Y-Hakufu... how are you in here too?” Then the thought struck her. Hakufu must be a sight.
