Anime Cipher Chapter 8: Sights to the Rescue

Rating: M (due to language only)

Summary: 4 different stories all merge into one great adventure. Kiara Davis, a high school senior has no love greater than anime. But how will she react when some of her favorite anime characters are actually appearing in front of her own eyes? And not only that, but she gets pulled into their world as well! Could it be because of her own private code she created out of pure boredom? What is all this leading to?
“Kia?! What the hell...” she heard as a surprise look grew on her face. Hakufu stared at her looking scared as she stuttered, “Y-Hakufu... how are you in here too?” Then the thought struck her. Hakufu must be a sight.

“MOVE!” Kia was hit back into reality as she heard Yuto's angry voice scream. Just meters behind Hakufu, Yuto was knocked away as Yukio sped towards them, his sais aimed right towards her friend.

“FLY!” Kia quickly said as the code glowed on the palm of her hand. She quickly rushed towards Hakufu, grabbed her and flew straight up into the air as Yukio barely scratched the side of her right leg.
“Damn...” Kia gritted holding in the pain.

“What the hell?!!” Hakufu panicked as she looked all around below her, they were a couple hundred feet of the ground. “Y-You're flying?! What's going on-AAAHH!!” She screamed as Kia quickly moved to dodge an explosion Ryuichi had sent at them. He and Ronin had gotten free.

“Shit....” Kia looked around. Hikaru was getting knocked around by Kyoko as Yuto was angrily charging at Yukio with everything he had, however, Ronin was weakening his abilities. Ryuichi was still trying to knock her out of the sky as she then groaned, “Hakufu, I'm gonna put you down and place a barrier around you. Do not leave that spot until I tell you got it!”

“But-”

“Just do it!” Kia ordered as she shot down. She moved as far from Ryuichi as she could get and put Hakufu down. She pulled a pen out of her pocket and quickly scribbled on her arm. In the meantime Hakufu was panicking, “Kia! Please explain--”A blast hit Kia away as she freaked out, “Kia!” Ryuichi appeared and Hakufu shook in fear. Ryuichi obviously spotted it and smirked, “This will be fun...”

“Not for you it won't!” Kia growled as she fly at light speed at him. She punched him away as she groaned, gripping her fist. “OW! Not again! God!”She shook it off and then quickly turned to Hakufu.“Barrier! Protect!” The code glowed on her arm as Hakufu looked, “Barrier? What the hell is all that weird writing on your arms?! Kia!”

“Stay there!” she ordered again as she flew right into Ryuichi knocking him further away from Hakufu. However, she forgot one very important thing.
“Heh. Forgot who I am missy?” he smirked as he wrapped his arms around her, trapping her in a tight lock. “I'm the bomb!” Fear rose in her eyes as she struggled to break free.

“PROTECT!”she heard as the explosion had sent her flying back right into a couple of trees. She groaned in pain as her vision shook. Her head was spinning and pain lingered all over her back and sides. A cough was forced out.... blood spilling on the ground as she flinched. She was a bit wobbly, however, she seemed to still be all in one piece. She looked as Yuto gave her a glare and moved on to helping Hikaru with Kyoko. Apparently, Yukio had gotten his ass kicked and escaped. Ronin rushed over to his brother who had now reformed unconscious. Kia weakly got up, still trying to recover from the blast as she said, “Teleport... Cryptic Forest.” Both Ronin and Ryuichi vanished as she sighed in relief. However, there was still one left. She looked to see Kyoko being tossed around by Hikaru as Yuto hit her. Just as she was about to join them, her body began to grow heavy, as if weighting her down. Gravity was against her as she fell down exhausted.

“Kia!!” she heard Hakufu's worried voice before she blacked out.

{~“This isn't good! What are we gonna do?!” voices panicked. A feminine voice cried, “We're dwindling down! How is this possible?!”

“Ever since Hikaru's disappearance... we've slowly been falling...” a soft, worried voice responded. “Hikaru... Yuri.... Mai... Ryosuke, even my cousin Rena.” He gritted at the mention of his cousin.

“Relax, Prince Kei.” the feminine voice answered optimistically. The voices huddle quietly in a hut a small light, being their only way of seeing into the darkness surrounding them. “You still got me and Yuya. We'll find them for sure! No way are we letting the Triad keep them right guys?!”

“Aoki's right, prince.” a strong, cool masculine voice responded. “The triad will be easy to beat.”

“But this isn't just about the Triad, Yuya.” Kei sighed dispirited. “There's more... the Kirst, that Yukio guy... its much more than just the Triad. Way more than what we know about.”

“Don't be such a pessimist!” Aoki glared. “There's an answer for that too!”
“The Sights...” Yuya said. “But how do we find them....”

“Hmmm, maybe those fighters--” Aoki was cut off as he told her, “We haven't seen them since the last time we ran into the Sight. Our worlds are connected because of the Sights so what's the chances of us running into them again?”

“Geez... at least let me finish.” she sighed feeling dejected. Kei groaned, “That's our new goal. Find the Sights. No more risk of more captures. We don't have much time--”Suddenly a large Kirst smashed through the wall knocking the three remaining guardians down. Yuya groaned annoyed,“What?! These aliens again?!”

“Why didn't you say anything?!” Aoki shouted.

“Hello?! They don't have powers! I can't sense them!” he argued. Kei ordered, “Guys! Knock it off! We need to--” He froze as the large Kirst roared right over him, ready to swallow him up as darkness filled. ~}

“KIA!” she heard as she shot up, panicking. She was in a hot sweat and panting heavily. She breathed as she rested her head in her hands. She looked around to see Hakufu and Oburi. Oburi, worried, questioned, “Kia, are you alright?!”

“Y-yea...” she sighed exhausted. “Just... a really bad dream.”Oburi asked, “So how are you feeling?”

“Okay I guess...” she tried to remember what had happened. She turned to Hakufu, hoping she was getting the hint as she said cooly, “You fainted remember? Outside the anime store... you ran into a guy and you were knocked out.”

“Wow really?” she giggled. “I must have hit him pretty hard... I hope he's okay.”

“Yea.” Oburi laughed. “He carried you all the way home. He and his friend spent the night in your living room. He's still here I think.”

“What?!” she said surprised as Oburi giggled, “You know they're pretty good looking. Lucky you! Getting carried like a princess by him!”She blushed, “Come on Oburi... he isn't that cute...”

“You know you're scratching your head...” Hakufu pointed out. Kia looked and saw her hand there, involuntarily scratching her head. She quickly put her arm down, “So?” Oburi smirked, “You only ever scratch your head when you're lying...”She pouted, “I do not!”

“There you go again.” Hakufu stated as she scratched again. She thought, “Hey, why haven't I ever noticed that...”

“Anyways, I'll call him up. He and his friend were kind of worried.” she said getting up. “Is it fine if I bring them in?” Kia nodded as Oburi left. Hakufu then said, “... I still want to know what that was all about...”

“I'll let you know... but we need to keep others out of it.”Kia responded exhausted.

“I know... that guy, Hikaru told me...”she answered. “... He's familiar.”Kia nodded as Hakufu continued, “... one of those anime guys you watch on TV.”

“That's him.” She said. “Basically, to sum it all up... I haven't been crazy this whole time. Anime is real.” She was silent as Oburi came back in followed by a happy Hikaru beaming, “Good morning. Wide awake I see. How are you feeling?!”

“Much better...” she smiled a bit as she spotted Yuto drag himself in, annoyed as he leaned against the door frame. “Good to see you two are alright...”Yuto scoffed, “You ran into us... we don't faint after a little impact like that.” She gave him a look, “Well, excuse me for having such a horrid day....”

“Once again, not my problem.” he stated standing up. “Let's get outta here, Hikaru.”

“Please do-- OW!” Kia snapped as Hakufu whacked her. “What was that for?!”
“He helped you and you're being rude.” she pointed out as Kia. She sighed and reluctantly apologized, “I'm sorry for being rude... you can stay if you want.” Hikaru smiled, “That'd be great! Thanks-”

“We got better things to do than waste our time here.” he said walking out as Kiara growled, “Then get out! No one asked you to hang around!” Yet, he was already gone. Hikaru sighed, “Sorry about him... he's not very social...”

“Obviously.” Kia pouted as Oburi whacked her. “Stop being immature Kia.”

“I'll check up on him. Glad you're better Kia. We'll see you around.” Hikaru said as he left. Oburi sighed, “Well, what a weird way to start a morning... Anyways, I should head home. I'll see you two on Monday alright?”

“See ya.” Kia smiled as Hakufu waved, “Later.”As she left, Hakufu turned to Kia as she sighed, “Alright, I've only know about this for a few months so I don't know much.”

“Then tell me what you do know.” she stated as she sat next to her. Kia explained the story of her experiences as a Sight as well as some things about anime. As an hour passed, Hakufu was about caught up, “So we... Sights have to save some anime world from Pipers?”

“That about sums it up.”she replied and sighed, “And that jerk, Yuto is one too.”

“And Hikaru is a guardian... one of the anime people we need to help.”
“Yea.” Kia answered as she suddenly remembered her nightmare. “Crap. I didn't get to tell him! We gotta find him! NOW!”

“Well, where should we start looking?” Hakufu wondered as we rushed out of the house. Kia groaned, glancing around, “I dunno--”She lit up and quickly looked under the sleeves of jacket she had on, the code still visible on her arms. “Search! Yaotome Hikaru!” A portal appeared in front of them, soon showing Yuto and Hikaru walking through their town, just passing a popular cafe. Kia then said, “Teleport!”She grabbed onto Hakufu and the next thing they knew they were around the corner to the cafe.

“Hikaru!”Kia yelled as she ran towards them, Hakufu following slowly behind.
“Wow, you caught up fast.” Hikaru smiled. Yuto seemed to groan as Kia said, “I forget to tell you! I had this dream about your friends!”

“Who cares about some stupid dream...” Yuto sighed shutting his eyes annoyed as he leaned against a nearby wall. “We have to get a move on. Unlike you, we don't waste our time goofing around with friends. We have worlds to save--” He was cut off as pain stung on his cheek, Kia, glaring angry in front of him.

“Look jerk! His friends are in trouble and I know what we Sights have to do. We're suppose to save the world, but not alone! So quit the lone wolf act and help your partner's friends!”

“... what do you mean... they're in trouble...” Hikaru said worried, the first she-- and maybe even Yuto, have seen him not cheerfully optimistic. Kia explained her dream as Hikaru's normal attitude seemed to completely vanish.

“Where were they?” Hikaru quickly asked. I thought, “I could only see the inside of the hut... it was practically empty besides the table they were huddling around... wait... when the Kirst crashed in... you could see the stables...”

“They were in Serenity.” Hikaru panicked. “The aliens got into Serenity!” Hakufu asked, “So.. am I just gonna go in with no training what-so-ever?”Kia thought, “I think you can learn from watching a battle... just write out protective codes on your arm for now. Yuto and I can probably handle it.”

“I can... I don't know why you think you can.” he said as she glared at him. “Teleport. Serenity.” He and Hikaru vanished as Kia turned to Hakufu, hurry and write a few different codes. We can't let him have all the fun!”

“Alright... don't rush me...” she sighed trying to write some of the codes on her. Kia looked over her, “Protect... barrier... oh! Write, heal. And just in case teleport... Okay. That looks fine. Let's go! You try it.” Kia grabbed onto Hakufu's arm.

“Ok. Teleport. Serenity.” Hakufu said as the code for teleport glowed on her arm. They vanished from home, and soon stood within the gates of Serenity. “How was that--” Kia released her grip on her as she stared appalled at the now destroyed gate. The metal was torn in half, and bent awkwardly. Half of it was ripped off it's hinges, the wall crumbling a bit. The designs of the war were completely unrecognizable, not only because of the night sky, but because of the claw marks all over them.

“How is this possible... Serenity's walls are suppose to be prevent those who pose a threat from entering... this is the first it's ever been... broken into.” Kia sadly touched the gate. Screams came from within as Hakufu pulled her in, “We've got to help Yuto and Hikaru with the little alien things!”

“The Kirst.” Kia corrected as she groaned, “Yeah, those! We can mourn the gate later!”The two rushed into the city to see Yuto already getting rid of the last Kirst. Kia pouted, “Well... didn't save any for us?” He glared at her, “Maybe you shouldn't lag behind...” Before she could retaliate, she heard, “Yuto!” Hikaru rushed over, “No one's in the palace. It's completely deserted. Same with the hut Kia described.”Hakufu sighed, “Maybe they moved... they had to if the hut was attacked.” A depressed look filled Hikaru's face as Yuto groaned angrily at Kia, “Thanks a lot...”

“What? You blaming me for what happened here?”

“I'm blaming you for freaking Hikaru out.” he gritted quietly as Hakufu tried to comfort Hikaru. “He's never like this. I can't have him being all depressed when we're up against the Pipers!”

“His friends are in danger! Did you expect me to just let them get swallowed by the Kirst?!” she defended herself. He growled, “And how can Hikaru fight when his mind is off wandering, worried about his friends? He'll be distracted!”

“You should have better faith in your partner.” she told him, annoyed as she walked away. Kia looked around at the townspeople cleaning up the mess the Kirst had made. She approached an old lady cleaning broken shards of glass by her shop, “Excuse me miss? The guardians? Where are they?”

“My dear, haven't you heard?”she said worried. “Most have been taken captive by the Triads and those alien creatures. The prince, his guard, and Aoki are the only ones who have been around.”

“Yes. Prince Kei! Where has he gone?” she lit up. The old woman thought, “I remember seeing them when the aliens came a few days ago. They vanished and every night the aliens return to wreck havoc in the village.”

“Vanished...” she thought. “Did they happen to get caught by the aliens?”

“Oh dear, I surely hope not... they're the only ones who can save our home...” she thought sadly. Kia assured her, “Don't worry. We'll help them. Just leave it to us. Do you know where the aliens run off to when they leave?”

“In the forest somewhere... but that's where the Triads live. No one dares to go there.” she warned.
“Well, I know a few people who are willing to go in.” she gave a confident smile. She left and returned to the still depressed Hikaru, annoyed Yuto, and her silent friend Hakufu as she cheerful smiled, “Guys, get your stealth codes ready. We're going on a rescue mission.”
