Anime Cipher Chapter 11: An Almost Completed Team

Rating: M (due to language only)

Summary: 4 different stories all merge into one great adventure. Kiara Davis, a high school senior has no love greater than anime. But how will she react when some of her favorite anime characters are actually appearing in front of her own eyes? And not only that, but she gets pulled into their world as well! Could it be because of her own private code she created out of pure boredom? What is all this leading to?
"WOHOO!" Kia cheered as she had Hakufu sat at the large banquet table within the serenity palace. The browsers sat around them as they all feasted. "So this is the full browser team? Awesome."

"Not quite..." Aoki answered. "Hikaru's suppose to be here." She looked at his empty seat as Kei answered, "He's with the other Sight. That's still doing his job as a Browser... But she right about us not Being complete.."

"We're still missing people?" Hakufu questioned. "But there's already so many of us..."

"One. There's one more." Keito pointed out. "Someone really important."

"Who's that?" Kia questioned as everyone seemed to look at each other. "what?"

"We assumed you would know..." Mai added. "After all, we're missing the last Sight."

"Another one of us..." Hakufu asked as Kia lit up, "oh! That's right! There's suppose to be four sights total!"

"So do you know who it is?" Rena questioned as she shook her head, "No clue... Maybe Daiki can find whoever it is. I’ll talk to him about him."

"Well, lets not worry about that now. We've had a victory. Lets enjoy it." Kei said as they all nodded. However he noticed Aoki in thought as she soon got up and left the room. He was about to get up as he heard, "I'll check on her." Yuya left after her before Kei could respond.

~

"Hey." Aoki heard as she sat in the stables, petting a pegasus. She looked and sighed, "Why'd you leave the party?" He took a seat on a stack of hay, “You know I’m not exactly a party kind of guy.” She sighed as he said, “Not everyone is like Rena... we don’t know what’s going on in your mind.”

“... I just really miss Hikaru.” she stated softly. He didn’t respond as she told him, “I know.. you’re not very fond of him... he’s the best Knight, has the best position.... but he’s my best friend. Until we saw him last time... I thought he was dead. Do you know what it’s like... to lose your best friend?”

“... I don’t get attached to people that easily...” he said bluntly as she scoffed, “Yet, you’re close to Mai.” He was silent as she sighed, “It hurt so much... seeing him vanish after Ryuichi’s blast.... I didn’t know what to do. I felt... so alone. But then he was here. He was here, perfectly fine.” She smiled, “You don’t know how happy I was to see he was alright. I just couldn’t believe he was actually there.”

“... and now...” he wondered as her smile vanished, “... Now... I feel lonely again. I feel... like he’s left us... for that Sight.” He thought, but said, “He’s an honorable Knight. Although he goofs off a lot, he knows how to get his assignments done. That’s what I hated the most about him.”

“Heh. That he’s not as serious as you?” she teased. He gave her a look, “Missions are meant to be serious. He was always focused on having fun...” He sighed, “But he always completed them... perfectly. He’s doing his job, aoki. The job of the Browser. And he won’t let anything or anyone get in his way. That’s what I’m envious of. That he can be so carefree, yet still be so dedicated to his job.”

“... you know...” Aoki said as she got up. “Surprisingly, you really know a lot more about Hikaru than I give you credit for.” He got up as well, heading off, “I look into my rival’s. I have to know what I’m up against. Despite him being on the same side as me... he’s my biggest one.”

“Your biggest rival, huh? Why is that?” she questioned.

“Because compared to him, I’m always second best in the prince’s eyes.” he said strongly. “Second rated. My goal was to be the prince’s right hand. And he is what is standing in my way of that... even when he was supposedly dead, the prince hadn’t raised my rank. Hikaru.... is my ultimate opponent. I will get ahead of him and he’ll be the one looking up to me.”

“... you’ve got your goals set don’t you?” she sighed as he nodded, “But first things first.... taking down the Pipers.”

“Right. And that’s when your rival’s enemy is your enemy... therefore making you two, teammates.” she stated as he nodded. “For now at least... but as soon as we defeat them, he’ll return to being my main opponent.”

“Heh, you’re really competitive.” she told him. “Thanks for talking to me, Yuya. It was... helpful.” He nodded as he returned to the palace. She turned to the pegasi in the stables as she looked up at the starry night sky.

“... you’re just doing your job... right Hikaru?” she asked. She smiled, “You had better come back to us soon, you idiot.”

~

“So, what do you all know about this... mission were on?” Hakufu questioned as she, Kia, Kota, Karina, Kei, and Ryosuke headed out of the dining hall as the maids cleaned up. They all sat together in the living room as Kei answered, “Honestly, not much. My father... the King, often told my cousin and I stories of other worlds... but this is the first we’ve all come together like this.”

“Well, his stories must have told you something...” Kia thought. “Daiki doesn’t know a lot about it either.” She filled them all in on what she knew as Ryosuke added, “That’s almost all we know as well. The only difference is... we kind of know what they’re up to.”

“You do?” Kia gave him a look as Karina stated, “It’s obvious isn’t it? All our stories are connected. Our headquarters, the well-protected kingdom of Serenity.”

“At least until the Kirst came.” Kota pointed out. “There’s also the fact that one of our most recent missing criminal is helping the Triad--”

“Whoa! Wait, what?!” Kia panicked. “Just stop! Dude! Major spoiler alert! Seriously?! Give me a warning--”

“Kia!” Hakufu gave her a look. “Not the time for this!” She turned to Kota, “Who is this criminal you’re talking about?”

“We aren’t sure how... but he’s also the one behind the escaped prisoners.” Karina stated. “Yoshida Akira. Quite the mastermind of this plot.” Kei asked, “So he’s the brains behind the whole operation?”

“He could be... but there’s something telling me... he’s not doing this along.” Kota stated. “I knew him a for a short time... rumors went around the prison how unstable he was. He was forced to see the psychiatrist often.”

“Murakami Akako.” Kia questioned. “She’s a miracle worker. I’d get so annoyed with people crazy like him.”

“And that’s why you’re not a psychiatrist.” Hakufu pointed out. “So what do you know about what Akira is planning?” Kota stated, “He’s using the escaped prisoners to feed the Kirst and make them stronger. Hence, taking down Serenity’s gate.”

“He’s sacrificing them?” Kia gave a look. “What the hell...”

“The Kirst ate them?” Hakufu questioned confused.

“No, they only do that after you’re an empty shell.” Kia shook that thought away. “The Kirst, as soon as they take on their monstrous form, they feast on shadows, making them stronger. Without your shadow you’re a lifeless being, therefore, not wanting to waste fresh meat, they’ll eat you.”

“Bleh...” Hakufu groaned. “How could you be interested in stuff like that?”

“That’s a long explanation I’ll save you the trouble of hearing.” she said, thinking. “The escaped prisoners are vanishing in order to strengthen the Kirst, our headquarters, Serenity, was attacked by the Kirst... the Pipers are getting impatient so they’re trying to strike at us where it will hurt the most.” She sighed, “But that still doesn’t tell us what they want? Revenge? Power?”

“Think about it.” Kei stated. “All of those things are important characteristics of our stories. What’s missing?” Hakufu looked over cluelessly at Kia as she said to herself, “Missing culprits... the missing criminals are sacrifices. Aluna, our headquarters... Scroll Quest.... the Kirst--- THE SCROLL!”

“Bingo.” Ryosuke said.

“Well what is it?” Hakufu wondered as everyone shrugged, “Beats us...”

“But whatever the scroll contains, that’s what the Pipers want. And you Sights...” Kei looked at them. “Are the only ones who can locate it.”

“... then why do they want to kill us?” Hakufu thought. “They need us, don’t they? To find it?”

“... unless they already have one of us....” Kia realized. “What if they already have our last member?” Ryosuke replied, “Is that possible? There was no one else in their dungeon...” Karina nodded, “Although that might be true, they could have hidden the Sight elsewhere. After all, a sight is powerful. You wouldn’t want to lose something that valuable.”

“Hakufu, we need to head back home.” Kia said getting up.

“What for?” she wondered.

“... we have to be sure.” she stated. “I’m gonna try to be optimistic and hopefully the last Sight hasn’t been caught or killed or whatever. We’ll find whoever it is so we can locate this scroll and keep it away from the Pipers.”

“And how do you think we’ll find them. The world is huge!”

“We met didn’t we?” Kia smiled. “And we eventually met Yuto too. No doubt we’ll meet the final Sight as well.”

“Alright.” she got up. “Let’s go.”

“I’ll keep an eye on the Pipers as often as I can.” Kia smiled. “Keep me up to date here okay?” Kei nodded, “I’ll have Rena contact you if anything happens.” She nodded as the two teleported out.

~

“So what do you think?” Ryutaro questioned as he and Keito were given a room to share within the Palace. “Of the Sights? Think they have what it takes to take down the Pipers?” Keito thought to himself for a moment, but said, “It’s hard to say, honestly--”

“Knock, knock.” Rikia knocked on the door as she opened it, “We’re coming in.”

“No point in knocking if you’re just gonna let yourself in.” Ryutaro gave her a look as she teased, “Still common courtesy.”

“Keito! This place is amazing! I love the room we girls are staying in! It’s so beautiful!” Kyoumi told him excited. “This will be a great headquarters for the Browsers!” Tsubasa responded, “Except for the fact that the Pipers know we’ll be here.” Rikia replied, “But the walls aren’t exactly easy to get passed.”

“It was torn down. By the Kirst remember?” Keito pointed out. “... Yukio and the Kirst... with the help of the rest of the Pipers... they too are a stronger force. It won’t be easy. I don’t know how those girls will pull it off.”

“Well, they’re still missing one Sight... and there’s that guy with one of the Guardians.” Tsubasa pointed out. “He seems to be pretty strong with his abilities.”

“Yeah, but he doesn’t know how to work in a team... and that could be his downfall.” Ryutaro told them. “He won’t be able to accomplish anything with just him. It’s too difficult. He needs to learn to open up to others.”

“I wonder why he has such high walls built around him?” Kyoumi thought as Rikia stated, “Does it matter? We just need to make sure they survive long enough to stop them.” She shrugged, “It would still be nice to know... where did Kiara and Hakufu run off to anyways?”

“Home more likely...” Keito answered. “They aren’t from around here remember? If they’re focused enough, they’re probably going to look for the remaining Sight.”

“Well, we can’t just assume they’re gonna do that.” Rikia pointed out. “Maybe we should look too...”

“We can’t exactly get to their world.” Keito pointed out as Kyoumi thought, “Well... maybe the Guardians can. After all, one of them can teleport." Tsubasa shook her head, “I don’t think it can work that way. Our worlds are separate, so she shouldn’t be able to teleport there... right?”

“Hard to say. All our worlds are colliding together. There’s a chance she can.” Ryutaro pointed out. “They managed to get here didn’t they?”

“Yeah, but they’re Sights.” Tsubasa stated. “They have that ability.”

“... well, test these theories.” Keito thought. “Hopefully... it is only the Sights who can maneuver
through the worlds...Otherwise, if we can, the Pipers can too.”

~

“No.” Mai said as Yuri pouted, “What?! Why?!” She gave him a look, “You don’t need to do it! I can finish on my own.”

“But you look so tired. Let me help!” he pleaded as she mopped the dining room floor. She answered, “You know what happens when you overuse your ability!”

“Yeah, we all overuse our energy, causing us to faint from exhaustion.” he said unamused. “But I’m feeling perfectly fine right now! Come on, come on, come on! Then we can do something fun!”

“Yuri...”

“Just let him use his powers, Mai.” they heard as Rena approached. She gave a little curtsy, “Your highness.... are you sure?”

“It’s just a small task. And you know how whiney he gets...” she sighed as Yuri smiled, “Sorry, your highness.” She rolled her eyes, “What are you in a rush for anyways? Talking to the pegasi again?”

“Haha, no actually. I wanted to practice my abilities against the Sights!” he said excited. “Me and Mai against the two of them! Wouldn’t that be fun?!”

“We’d get our butts kicked. They’re Sights for a reason.” she pointed out, holding the mop out to him. He focused as the mop soon stood up on its own and began mopping around on its own. He smiled, “Well we won’t know unless we try!”

“Gonna have to save it for another day. The Sights left not too long ago. They returned home.” Rena told them as he pouted, “What? Already....” She nodded in response, “They have a job to do. They’re working on it and we should be preparing too. And not by practicing through everyday neccessities.” She looked as the mop finished its job and soon returned to the supply closet with the bucket of soap. “We need actual training.”

“Then let’s gather the rest of the Guardians and have a training session every now and then.” Mai suggested as Rena nodded, “I was thinking about--” She stopped as a loud echoing went through the palace walls. The castle shook a bit as the three remained balance. It became quiet as Mai asked, “W-What was that?”

“....” Rena thought quietly. “Could it be... Hikaru’s sound wave....” She turned to the two, “Quickly. Gather the Guardians into the foyer.”

“No need.” Kei approached with Ryosuke. “Aoki and Yuya should know what that meant. They’ll be here in a moment.”

“I managed to take a glance through Hikaru’s mind.” Rena said.

“What happened?! That was Hikaru’s SOS sound wave wasn’t it?” Aoki rushed in with Yuya. Rena nodded. “He and the Sight were captured. He knocked out a moment later so I didn’t get to see much....”

“Prince Kei!” Aoki turned to him. “What do we do?!”

“... Rena. Try to get in contact with the Sights.” he turned to her as she gave him a look, “I may be talented but to contact the other world. I doubt that’s possible.”

“I won’t hurt to try. We have two lives at stake and we can’t lose them.” he said seriously. “Ryosuke, fetch the Seekers and Detectives. We could use their input.” He then turned to Mai, “As soon as Rena can contact Kia or Hakufu, take her with you and try to teleport to them.”

“I’ll do my best, your highness.” She bowed. He then turned to Yuya, “As soon as the Seekers get here, I want you take a few of them and stand guard around the Triads lair. We have to make sure that Hikaru and Yuto are still alive.”

“Kei, I’m not getting anything.” Rena groaned.

“Keep trying. There has to be some way to contact them.” he thought pleadingly.

~

“AH! Kia why?!” Kia turned to see that Oburi had arrived as she covered her ears. She and Hakufu were hanging out at the mall that weekend, waiting for her. Kia gave her a look saying, “I was talking to Hakufu--”

“About the newest volume of Missing Culprits! You just spoiled it for me!” she pouted angrily. She turned to Hakufu, “And when did you start getting into that manga?!” She shook her head, “You know how Kia is. She just goes on and on about her addiction. I zoned her out.”

“What?!” Kia pouted giving her a look. “Not cool, Hakufu.” Oburi sat with them at the mall fountain as she questioned, “Is Daiki joining us?”

“Hehe, are you kidding me?” Kia laughed. “The second I brought it up, he bursted into laughter thinking I was crazy. That guy know what he’s getting himself into if he joins us.” Hakufu gave her a look, “Well, you and me, Oburi.”

“Heh, I guess we do go a lil crazy when we shop.”

“For anime and manga at least.” Kia smiled. Hakufu scoffed, “A little?”

“Ok, a lot.” Oburi gave in as they all got up and began walking around. “Happy now?”

“Satisfied.” she said calmly. Oburi questioned, “So what have you two been up to lately? I feel a bit left out because you two are always together.”

“Nothing really.” Kia tried to think of something. Hakufu answered, “Kia’s just been falling behind in class. So I’ve been tutoring her.” Oburi laughed, “Well that explains everything.” Kia gave her a look, “What’s that suppose to mean?”

“That you put anime above everything Kia and that really bad.” she replied. She then lit up, “Kia! That’s stores having a sale on manga! Come on!” She rushed over as Kia beamed, “Yes--”

“Kia!” she suddenly heard as she froze. She turned, looking around as she asked, “Hakufu... did you hear that?”

“..” she nodded looking around as they heard, “Kia! Hakufu! Can you guys hear me?!”

“Rena?” Hakufu soon realized as she sighed in relief, “Thank God. We need you ASAP. Please get back here now!”

“What’s the problem?” Kia questioned as she quickly said, “Hikaru and Yuto have been capture! They need help!” She groaned, “That idiot! I knew he should have came with us.” As Kia began to scribble on a hand, Hakufu said, “What about Oburi?”

“Think you can distract her for now?” she questioned. “And meet up with us, say in an hour--” She was cut off as her cell phone rang. She quickly answered it, “Not a good time, Daiki--”

“Your anime shopping can wait. I found something.” he said quickly.
“Can it wait--” Hakufu saw her eyes widen in surprise as she said, “I’ll be there soon.” She hung up. “Hakufu, I need you to meet up with the Guardians. I’ll tell Oburi that we have to take off. Hurry.”

“Where are you going?”

“Somewhere important. I’ll tell you later.” she rushed off towards the store as Hakufu sighed, moving to an isolated area and said, “Teleport, Guardians!”

~

“Daiki!” he heard as Kia rushed into him at their school. He groaned, "Ow... Kia. I said hurry, not to run into me..."
"Where is she?!" She said impatiently. "Where's Rayna?!"
