Summary: It's only so often that these two best friend get to see each other. Both being stars, it hard to find the time in their busy schedule to meet up. Will they ever get the time to be with each other and maybe even confess their feelings?
The crowd roared as she returned back stage. She sighed in exhaustion and took a nice refreshing drink of water. She thought, “Finally... after two Encores, I'm ready to just fall asleep.” Before the stadium was emptied, she headed off home in her car. As soon as she got home, she jumped on her bed to relax. She thought to herself, “It's so rare now for me to relax... I wish I could just take a break from all this... It's not as fun as it used to be...” She thought about how much she enjoyed the star life when she was younger as her mom entered her room, “Charice... you have a letter in the mail...”
“I do?” she said surprised. Usually all her letters go to the studio. She got the letter as she gave a surprised look. She opened it as happiness filled her face.
“Mom~! Keito's coming to America!!” she cheered happily. All her energy had returned to her.
“Really?! It's been quite some time since we've seen that boy.” she beamed. Charice nodded. The last time she had see Keito Okamoto was before he debuted in his band Hey! Say! JUMP more than 3 years ago. Keito had been her one of her close friends since childhood so she was excited to see him after these past few years.
“When will he come?”
“He said he'd surprise me.... but he said soon.” she beamed excited as she stared at the letter.
“Charice~” she heard her mom yell the next morning. “Get up or you'll be late for your interview.” She groaned as she sat up in her bed. She began getting ready as she looked at her calender. She gave a look and yelled, “Mom! It's Saturday! My interview isn't until tomorrow!” Her mom gave no response as she went downstairs calling, “Mom?” She went into the kitchen as she heard, “Morning.” A surprised look came on her face as she jumped on her surprise guest, happily saying, “Keito! You're here!”
“Yes I am.” he beamed. Her mom smiled, “Go have some breakfast and then you two can go out and catch up.”
“What?!” Charice whined as the sat in a smoothie shop to catch up. Keito nodded, “Yea. I'm only here for two weeks..”
“That's so little time~” she said sadly. He smiled, “Come on. Let's enjoy the time that I have here. You don't want to send me back to Japan with that frown on your face do you?” She smiled, “No... You're right.” He nodded, “Anyways, how's things going with you? You've been performing all over the place huh?” She nodded, “It's been alright... a lot all the concerts have been getting to me...It feels more like a chore now-a-days... It's not as fun as I remember it.”
“Really?” He said a bit worried. “Maybe, you should try to do new things.... maybe a new song?”
“Maybe... it has been a while since I've had something new to sing.” she thought. She lit up, “Keito! Would you help me write one?!” He smiled, “Sure~! Sounds like fun! Let's do it!” For the next week, when the two weren't going out to hang out, they were composing music together.
“IT's done!” Charice cheered happily as she and Keito soon finished. He nodded, “And it sounds great!”
“Thanks Keito! I couldn't have done this without you.” she happily hugged him. “I'm gonna talk to my agent about this right now. I'll meet you back at home, alright?” He nodded with a smile as she took off.
“Charice, this song is amazing~” her agent stated amazed. She smiled, “Thanks.” He told her, “We'll be sure to include this in your next concert this saturday.”
“Alright--” she said as she realized something. “Wait this saturday?”
“yes, don't tell me you forgot.” he sighed as she thought, “Um... no... of course not..” Soon after preparing for the concert she headed home.
“... Oh no, what am I gonna do... Keito's leaving at the same time as my concert...” she thought on the way home.
“Hey... what with the face?” Keito said as he saw her come in.
“Ah, nothing...” she thought.
“That face doesn't seem like nothing...” he told her. She sighed, “... Keito, I'm really sorry, but my concert is at the same time as your departure time.” He had a disappointed face for a second, but smiled, “It's alright Charice. I'll be back again anyways.”
“... I still feel really bad...”
“Well don't be.” he ruffled her hair. He beamed, “You should enjoy your concert.” She sighed, “Well... alright...”
“Don't look so down.” he told her. “If it makes you feel better, how about I take you out tomorrow? We'll get some lunch, browse around a few shops... that sound good?” She nodded happily, “Sounds great~!”
“Thanks Keito~! This is great!” Charice beamed as they shared a strawberry cake. He smiled back, “You're welcome.” As they chatted, a phone call interrupted their fun. Keito told her, “I'll be right back.” He answered his phone as he walked away, “Hai...”
“” *sigh*” She began picking at the cake as she thought to herself, “
“Sorry...” Keito said as he came back. “Charice. I have to go...”
“Go?” she said sad. He nodded, “I need to get back to Japan... I guess we're already planning out summer concerts so they need me there...”
“Oh...” she said disappointed. He sighed, “I'm really sorry... but I'll be back to visit as soon as I can.” She gave a little smile, “It's okay... I'll see you again soon then.” He nodded as he took off. She thought, still smiling, “I should see him off with a smile...” But soon, when he was out of sight, tears began to fall.
“Charice, are you ready?” the producer asked, minutes before the concert. She nodded as he left her alone to begin. She sighed as he left and thought, “It's only been two days since you left... but I already miss you so much.”
“Charice, you're on.” they called as she got on stage. She began to sing,
Hmmm All my life
I've waited for the right moment
To let you know I dont wanna let you go
But now I realize
There's just no perfect time
To confess how you feel
This much I know is real
So I'll refuse
To waste one more second without you
Knowing my heart
Baby Cause I don't need anything
But your love Nothing but you means a thing to me
I'm incomplete When you're not there
Holding me Touching me
I swear all the rest
Would just disappear And I would not even care
As long as you're there
The entire time, there was only one person on her mind. Her eyes became water as she continued to sing,
Take these words Don't let them go unheard
This is me reachin' out I hope you can hear me now
Cause baby my heart says stay Take it, it's yours to break
I'd rather try and lose
Than keep this love from you, yeah
So I'll refuse To waste one more second without you
Knowing my heart
Baby Cause I don't need anything
But your love Nothing but you means a thing to me
I'm incomplete When you're not there
Holding me Touching me
I swear all the rest
Would just disappear And I would not even care
As long as you're there
Each day and night That I kept this secret
It killed me It's time to share What I feel inside
Suddenly, something caught her eyes. Despite how dark it was, she saw some light come in from the back. Someone walked in as she saw the person holding a bouquet of red roses. A large smile appeared on her face as she saw who it was. Tears fell in happiness. He smiled as she ended the song.
Baby Cause I don't need anything
But your love Nothing but you means a thing to me
I'm incomplete When you're not there
Holding me Touching me
I swear all the rest
Would just disappear And I would not even care
As long as you're there As long as you're there
Loud applause erupted in the stadium as she smiled as Keito came up on the stage. She rushed over and hugged him, “What are you doing here?!” He smiled, “I didn't want to miss your concert... And the other guys can handle the planning without me for a while...” He gave her the roses as they walked backstage. “Here, the song was great.”
“Couldn't have done it without you...” she beamed. “... I'm glad you came back...” He nodded, “So am I...” He leaned into her as they shared a kiss, happily.
