Summary: Ryelie has no idea what had happened to her in the last year. Her friends and family tell her that she was just clumsy and injured herself, but she knows that there's more to it. What really happened to her? Why won't her best friends tell her anything? She's just about to give up hope when she overhears an interesting conversation one night. Her parents discuss what to do about a certain trial with someone named Jared. Who is he and what does he have to do with her family?
“This is where we had lunch the first day we met.” Hikaru said as he led them to their school rooftop. “We always hung out here... until we met Kei and hung around town with him.” She smiled, “Really? No wonder I feel so comfy up here...” She looked around, trying to remember how her first day was like. But nothing. “Anything else you can tell me about the first day?”
“You were always to yourself... sure you were nice but whenever I ask about why you came here from America, you'd always change the subject. You never tell anyone about your life before coming here.” he stated. “But I guess that's because of Jared...” Riki tried to think again when it came to her.
“Class, we have a transfer student, Yamamoto Ryelie.” The teacher introduced. She entered the room and smiled, “Morning everyone.” She bowed as she stated, “Please, just call me Riki.”
“Hmm, Riki, you can take that seat next to Yaotome-san.” he pointed as she nodded and took her seat next to the one named Yaotome and the window. She sighed as she sat down and as the lessons began she heard, “Psst...” She looked over to see the Yaotome guy smiling at her. He whisper, “I'm Yaotome Hikaru. Nice to meet you, Riki-san.”
“You too, Yaotome-san.” she smiled as they shook hands.
“Wanna have lunch with me?” he wondered. “I could show you around the school too if you want... after this class?” She thought, “Sure. That'd be great. Thanks.” He beamed as she turned back to the board and began taking notes. Soon after that class, Hikaru quickly grabbed her and began showing her around everywhere.
“These are the other junior classes.... then it goes down to sophomores, and freshmen. Seniors are just passed us.” he explained. “And finally.... here's the rooftop.” He opened a door to reveal a nice, clean rooftop with a few potted plants around. She smiled, “Wow... It's really nice up here.” She stood at the edge and looked over the town and sighed in relaxation. Soon arms wrapped around her waist as Hikaru's head laid in the crock of her neck. He seductively stated, “Maybe we can hang out here sometime, you know, just the two off us?” Her smile kinda faded as she sighed again and chuckled, “So you're a flirt, Yaotome-san? Sorry, but I'm not interested in a relationship right now.” He pouted, “Fine, then how about a date? Tonight say 8ish?”
“Pass.” she giggled. She got outta his grip and headed for the door as he stood pouting with a cute face. She just continued to laugh, “Are you coming or not?” His smile finally formed as he followed after.
“So even if I asked 'Will you go out with me?' You still wouldn't?” Hikaru smiled to her as they walked back to class. She laughed, “No I wouldn't.”
“Will you go out with me?”
“No. How many times do I need to say it.” she shook her head a little annoyed.
“Didn't you hear what I just said?”
“Yes, you said will you go---” she suddenly caught herself. “Oh, you're good.” He laughed, “Can't believe you almost fell for that one.” She laughed back as they took their seats. Soon lunch arrived. She got out her bento as Hikaru called, “Riki-san, let's have lunch on the roof.”
“Uh sure.” she said as she exited the classroom with him.
“So have you been around town lately?” he asked as they ate their lunches. She shook her head, “I've only been here for two days now... I rested all day yesterday after my long flight so I haven't explored around yet.”
“Cool, I'll show you around after school.” he beamed happily.
“That'd be great. Thanks.” she smiled.
“Haha...” she smiled at the memory. Hikaru asked, “Remember?” She nodded, “I'm not surprised you flirted with me...” He shrugged, “I can't help it... I see a pretty girl I have to flirt with her... that is until you introduced me to Nina.” He hugged her as she giggled, “Aw... truly an awesome day. You remember that day, Riki? I came a two weeks before your first encounter with Jared here... it was kind of my fault though... He followed me here...”
“Hmmm... I think so...” she thought. “The first day you arrived here... give me some reminders...”
“It was after the first day of the school sports festival.” Kei stated remembering. “You and Hikaru went out to celebrate your first victories of the competition while I had to get to a photo shoot. I went to your place after but met Nina... and not too long after you arrived with Hikaru.”
“Okaeri!” Riki heard Kei say as she saw he was with someone. Her bag dropped as she and the other girl squealed happily. Riki hugged her tightly, “Nina what in the world are you doing here?!!”
“What do you think?! I missed you so much!” she laughed.
“Eh? Your best friend?” Hikaru asked. “What is she here for?”
“Our plan!” Nina smiled. “Your parents are geniuses!” Riki lit up, “Wait... so they--”
“They went to Hawaii.” she smiled. “While they're there, I will be here with you... well I'll be here for a little less than 2 weeks... I'm on break right now in school so my parents let me come. That way his plan just collapsed.”
“They are amazing!” Riki cheered. “I should probably call them up...”
“Later! First, tell me about these cute guys here...” she giggled as she whispered in her ear. “I thought that Kei guy was your boyfriend coming to see you... but you walked home with that guy. Which one's your boyfriend?”
“Wha-- Shut up!” she blushed as she whispered back. “They're just friends! I don't wanna get into another relationship!” Nina sighed sitting down on the couch, “Sorry, sorry... but seriously, any relationship is better than what you were in... That shouldn't even count as-”
“Nina! Shut up already! I don't wanna talk about that!” she glared.
“Sorry... ah, Riki. Your parents wanted me to give you this.” She thought trying to change the subject, as she handed her a gift bag. She opened it and smiled, “YAY~! Mom's awesome spaghetti! Looks like dinner's ready for tonight!” As she began to set up table with Kei, Hikaru, in a flirtatious voice he said, “So, you are the gorgeous Angel I've heard so much about...”
“Ah...” she smiled with a little blush. “You must be the flirt, Hikaru. So what have you heard about me?”
“You've got the most beautiful voice in the world, eyes that sparkle magnificently, and a smile that could light up the darkest days.” he smirked. She giggled as he added, “And a laugh that could make even the most miserable people in this world smile.”
“You've gotten better Hikaru-kun.” Riki laughed.
“Ah, we all know he got it from me.” Kei stated with a large smile. Riki rolled her eyes, “Well he certainly got his big head from you...” Hikaru and Kei responded, “Eh?! Riki~!” She laughed as did Nina. Kei pouted, “You're always so mean to us...”
“You know I'm joking with you..” she made a face to him.
“Your face is gonna get stuck like that.” he said pinching her cheek.
“Ow!” she pouted.
“Minna! I'm hungry! Let's eat!” he said taking a seat at the table.
“Hai...” she sighed. “Oi! Hikaru! Stop flirting with Nina and lets eat!”
A smile appeared on Riki's face again. She sighed, “It really makes me sad... that I forgot all this. We've really had some great times together...” Nina smiled, “And we'll continue to have great times together. You might not remember all of them... but they'll always be in your heart.” Riki laughed a bit, “I guess your right... oh... Kei what about you? How did we meet?” He laughed a bit, “Do you really wanna hear? You didn't really like me when at the start...”
“Really?” she said surprised. “Why?! You're one of my best friends!!”
“Well not then...” he smiled. “You really want to know?” She nodded as he stated, “Come on...”
