Pairing: Inoo Kei X OC (Riki {Also known as Ryelie})
Summary: Ryelie has no idea what had happened to her in the last year. Her friends and family tell her that she was just clumsy and injured herself, but she knows that there's more to it. What really happened to her? Why won't her best friends tell her anything? She's just about to give up hope when she overhears an interesting conversation one night. Her parents discuss what to do about a certain trial with someone named Jared. Who is he and what does he have to do with her family?
“It's better to be safe than sorry.” he told her as she sighed and nodded. So they sat there quietly waiting. They waited and waited, but soon fell asleep.
“Where the hell did those two go?! They just disappeared!” Riki heard as she woke up an hour or two later. The three gang guys were back in the lobby. One groaned, “Well, they're gone now... we lost them...” She heard the footsteps going towards the door as she sighed in relief.
“Uhmm... Riki...” she then heard as Kei began sleep talking. She flinched as the footsteps stopped. “Riki...”
“Did you hear that...” she heard one of the guys say.
“I love--” She quickly put her hand over Kei's mouth. She heard footsteps coming closer to the desk. She gave Kei a small nudge, waking him up. When he heard the footstep, he immediately knew what was going on. He hugged her tighter. She could feel his heart beating fast on her back. He was just as nervous and scared as she was. When they heard the footsteps stop, they held their breath, hoping they wouldn't get caught.
“Found them!” the heard as one of them spotted them, aiming a gun at them.
“Crap...” Kei groaned, trying to think of what to do next. The guy aimed the gun at Kei, “Any last words?” Kei quickly grabbed the gun, and kneed the guy in the stomach. He turned to Riki, “Run! Now!” She nodded, heading for the door as the other two blocked her. Kei threw the gun to the side as he fought off the other guy.
“Nowhere to run now, girlie.” The other two smirked. One charged at her as she swung her purse again hitting him down. She ran over him, dodging the other guy and stood at the door.
“Kei!” she yelled as he nodded, knowing that she got out.
“Keep going! I'll catch up!” he shouted. She nodded and ran as he threw the guy he was fighting into the other ones. He stood over them, glaring, “Look... if you get anywhere near Riki again, I swear you're a dead man. Stay away from her!” They nodded quickly running off as fast as they could.
“Riki...” he spotted her as he left the building. She was sitting down on the side, waiting. She turned to him, an unreadable look was on her face as it soon became a smile, “I knew you could beat them.”
“Didn't I tell you to run? He sighed with a small smile.
“I wouldn't need to run if you beat them. They'd be the ones running.” she explained as he smiled, “So are you alright?” She nodded, “Thanks to you. I owe you one Kei.”
“Don't mention it...” he stated. “I told you... I'd protect you.” They began walking home as Kei soon asked, “Hey... so what were you doing over there? And all by yourself.” She flinched, but stated, “... the trial with Jared's next week... so I went to see him.”
“You saw Jared?!” he said shocked. “And on your own?!”
“Nothing happened if that's what you're worried about.” she explained as he told her, “But something could have happened! You should've taken someone with you!” She sighed, “But nothing did happen. It's done with Kei... don't worry about it.” He groaned, “Fine... what did he say?”
“Nothing helpful.” she said, not wanting to reveal what he said about Kei and Nina. “All he did was piss me off.”
“Yup.. that sounds like him alright... did you remember anything?” she shook her head, “Not one thing... Kei, what if I still don't remember by the time of the trial?” He thought, “It'll work out somehow... I was a witness when it happened... and Nina has been a witness ever since the two of you broke up. You don't need to face this trial alone. We'll be right besides you.”
“Thanks Kei.” she smiled hugging him. He nodded, “Anytime Ri...” There was silence again as she then laughed, “At least I learned one interesting thing today...”
“What's that?”
“You talk in your sleep.” she giggled as he stated, “What?! I do not!” She teased him, “Yea you do? Earlier you were all... 'Riki...Riki...' Haha, if we weren't in that situation, I would've been laughing my butt off.” He rolled his eyes as she said, “... What were you dreaming about Kei?”
“Can't say...” he told her.
“And why not?”
“Because if I tell you my dreams... they won't come true right?” he smiled as she giggled, 'Do you really believe in those superstitions?” He shrugged, “Every now and then.” She just laughed as they soon reached her home.
“There you are!” she heard as the two entered the house.
“How'd it go?!” Nina questioned running over to her. “We heard you went to see Jared! What happened?! Did you remember anything?!”
“Well, all that really happened was him pissing me off. I didn't remember anything.” she stated. Hikaru then asked, “”Nothing at all?” She nodded as Nina thought, “Well... I'm sure it will come to you. Hopefully before the trial.”
“Hopefully...” she thought. “Anyways, how about some dinner? I'm starving!” They all nodded and helped prepare dinner.
