“...hmm...” Aya awoke suspiciously. She began smelling a tasty aroma, making her stomach growl. “I thought I was alone...” She got up and looked around the house. Unsure of where exactly she was going, she followed the scent of the aroma. She finally found the kitchen as she saw someone cooking in front of the stove. Surprised filled her face as she turned to go, but she accidentally knocked over house décor that was right behind her.
“What are you doing outta bed? You should be resting!” he told her as he turned to see her. He quickly went over, picking up everything that was dropped and pointed to the room, “Go lay down. You shouldn't be straining yourself.”
“... what are you doing here...” she said curiously. She looked at the clock. “You're suppose to be...at your concert right now.” Yuto replied, “There are more important things to worry about than a concert.” He put a hand on her forehead, “You're still warm. Go back to your room... I'll bring dinner to you in a minute.” He began to led her to the room as she replied, “But... you don't have to--”
“Aya, just please do as I say... I'm asking nicely...” he begged as she sighed and nodded, “Alright... um, thanks...” He smiled a little and returned to the kitchen as she sat in bed.
“Here you go...” he smiled as he came in with a tray. He placed it in front of her as she smiled, “Wow... that looks amazing~”
“Go ahead and dig in.”
“Don't mind if I do.” she said as she took a bite. “Damn... Yuto your cooking has gotten a lot better!”
“Thanks.” he said as they sat in silence. She then asked, “Um... so why did you miss the concert?”
“I bet even you would know that answer.” he told her as she avoided his gaze. “I wanted to make sure you were alright.” She told him, “Um, thanks... but you don't have to... I know concerts are important to you. I don't wanna be keeping you from that.”
“It's okay. You're way more important...” he said with a slight blush. She turned red, but giggled, “Wow, you're actually blushing~” He pouted and looked away while blushing more, “I am not.” She leaned forward to see his face, “Yes you are.” He responded, “No, I'm not.”
“Haha, don't need to lie to me. I know you are!” she smiled as he gave her a look, “Fine! I'm blushing. Happy now?”
“Yup~” she stated with a smile. They sat in silence again as he then asked, “So... were my notes any help?” She nodded, “Yea. Thanks. They were a lot of help. Sorry to trouble you with it. I know you're suppose to be focusing on your senior project.”
“It's no trouble.” he told her.
“Really? Because I could've just gotten Kento to--”
“It's fine.” he said a little pissed as he heard the name. “Besides, I feel responsible for keeping you from school, I might as well do this as compensation.”
“...you're actually feeling bad... about that...” she said surprised.
“Well, yea... sure, I don't want you to be worrying about that, but... its what you want to do. You really have your mind set on it so I'll support you in your decision.” A smile formed on her face, “...I really appreciate that... Thank you Yuto...” She thought and said, “Hey...” He leaned towards her as she hugged him happily. “Thanks for being by my side... It's nice...having my sorta older brother nearby like this. You're always looking out for me.”
“... I'm not your older brother.” he told her seriously. “Don't call me you brother when I'm not.”
“Well you kinda are--”
“There's a difference between adopted brother and birth brother.” he said. “And I'm not your birth brother so I don't want to be called your brother.”
“geez.. don't need to get all serious--”
“I just don't like the fact that if we're siblings its wrong of us to date and get married or even have kids.” he stated a bit annoyed. He turned red as he said, “..I'll go wash these dishes.” He grabbed the tray of food and quickly left as she blushed and laid down.
“...You've never been this straightforward before...” she sighed, feeling he forehead. “God, i'm getting hot again...” She tried to bring her temperature down by resting and relaxing, but she eventually fell asleep.
“I brought you some water--” Yuto stopped as he notice the sleeping figure. He sighed as he place the cup on the bedside table and pulled up a seat next to the bed. He sat there, just watching over her. Every now and then he would feel her temperature slowly diminishing, relieving him of some of his worries.
“...to...” he soon heard a sound escape her mouth. He clenched his fist, think she was dreaming Kento when she said it again, “...to...Yu...to...” Surprise filled his face as he leaned to look at her. A small smile was on her as she said it once more “...Yu...to...” He blushed like mad as he saw the way it sweetly rolled outta her lips and out of her mouth. But his eyes were captivated on her sweet red lips. He leaned into her. An inch apart away, he suddenly stopped. Only an inch away from kissing her... yet he pulled away.
“... she wouldn't want that...” he said to himself as he just sat their watching. He looked at the clock as it read midnight. That's when he felt his phone vibrate. He left the room and answered the phone, “Keito? Hey, where are you?”
“Gomen, Yuto. Can you stay longer? I'm running really late and I still have to run a quick errand.” he told him as he nodded, “Sure... I can take over. Alright. We'll see you soon.” He then returned to his spot by Aya's side.
“ugh...” Aya groaned the next morning. Still tired she tried going back to sleep. She turned to get comfy when an arm wrapped around her waist. She then opened her eyes to see Yuto sleeping right next to her, hugging her. His eyes soon flickered open as their eyes connected. They just laid there for a moment when...
“Holy crap!” she screamed in surprised as she jumped, falling outta the bed. “Ah~!” Yuto quickly shot up, and quickly jumped of the bed, “Hey, you alright?!” She nodded,”yea, it's not that bad.. what the hell were you doing in my bed?!”
“How would I know?! I know for a fact that I stayed in that chair next to the bed and even slept in it! I do not remember ever getting onto the bed and laying with you.” he told as he got her back in bed. Keito then walked in, “Morning lovebirds, have a pleasant sleep?” He was carrying a tray of food as they both turned red, “Shut up, Keito~!”
“Haha you're even harmonizing together!” he laughed at them.
“We are not!” they said together as they looked at each other with a blush.
“Hey, I'm just messing with ya. Sorry, Aya. I kinda put Yuto on the bed. He looked uncomfortable in the chair and its not like anything would happen, so I thought you wouldn't mind.” he explained.
“Well don't do it again.” she told him with a pout. “I like my personal space.” He nodded, “I'll keep that in mind.” The trio had breakfast together as Keito asked, “So, how are you feeling Aya?”
“Truthfully much better~! I should be able to go back to school tomorrow.” she smiled. “You left me in good hands yesterday Keito.” Yuto smiled as Keito stated, “Damn, you guys really are getting along. That's nice.” She nodded, “Yea, see Yuto. People get along with you better when you're nicer to them.”
“Shut up...” he said with a pout as she giggled. She then asked, “Oh, so how was the concert yesterday, Keito?”
“The usual, screaming fans, lots of singing... oh the fans wished you to feel better....” he said. “Although, we kinda said you were Yuto's cousin... which is why he didn't show for the concert.” She thought, “They... actually wanted me to feel better...”
“Well yea.” he stated. “I mean, despite the fact that some girls are crazy fangirls... there are some fangirls who are sane and they just want the best for us... and for our friends and loved ones. You're one of those fans...”
“Haha, I guess I am...” she smiled a bit. “Be sure to thank them for me... during your next concert.” He nodded when Yuto stood up, “Well, I guess I'm not needed anymore...”
“Thanks Yuto. For taking care of me...” she smiled as he nodded, “Be sure... to come back to school soon... its not as much fun...”
“Awww, aren't you being awfully sweet?” she giggled. “...I'll see you monday...” He nodded and left as Keito smiled, “So...nothing really did happen last night right?” She gave him a soft slap in the arm, “Nothing happened!”
“Haha, I was just being curious~” he laughed. She smiled as they just talked that day. Aya began feeling better thanks to that weekend, not just from her sickness, but her stress and depression from school and bullies. Thanks to Keito, her advice guru, who is now the new best friend she confides in. Strangely, he always know exactly what to say to her. Soon Monday came.
“Relax...” Keito smiled to her as they rounded the corner to the school. “You'll be fine...” She nodded, “Thanks Keito... Um, do you mind going ahead?”
“...Oh... No problem. It'd be best for you if the fangirls didn't see me with you.” he thought. “Alright. I'll see you later then.” She nodded as he ran ahead of her and she slowed her pace down. Eventually she stood in front of the school and just stared at it. She bit her lip and thought, 'You're here for an education only... you don't need to socialize with anyone... Just ignore the fangirls, ignore their hurtful prank, … even … Shizu...' She was lost in thought for a moment as she soon heard, “Aya~!” She was tackled in a hug as Kento asked, “Where've you been?! Are you alright?! How are you feeling?!” She moved away from him, looking around for any fangirls as she sighed, “I'm ok Kento. I'm staying with a friend. You don't need to worry...”
“How can I not worry?!” he told her. “All this stuff that's been going on with you... And I feel as if I haven't been there for you at all--”
“Kento. You have.” she smiled at him. “... You're... the one friend who's stuck by my side... through all this drama...”
“What do you mean...” he wondered as she she sighed and explained quietly.
“It was them?!!” he said angry. “Damn, I'm gonna kill that Kuromiya!”
“Kento, just leave it...” she told him. “The last thing I need is them giving me more trouble...”
“But I can't just let them keep bullying you!” he responded as she told him, “Well, if you get involve it'll only make things worse for me... you're a celebrity after all...”
“Then what am I suppose to do? I can't just let them do what they do to you.” he asked as they walked to class. She shrugged, “Well, I dunno... Just ignore them... that's what I'm doing...”
“But Aya--”
“AYA!!” she heard as her heart tore. Kento glared and stopped Shizu from coming to her. Kento told her, “Back off Kuromiya. She's done hanging around you.” She glared, “Look, I don't care how much you hate me, but there's no way I'm gonna stop hanging out with my best friend--”
“Your ex-best friend!” he shouted at her. “You can cut the act! Both Aya and I know why you've been pretending to be her friend--”
“What the hell are you talking about?! I AM her friend! I've been with her through everything and I still am gonna be there for her when she needs me!” Shizu screamed pissed. “You know what, you don't even know what you're talking about Nakajima! I didn't come to chat with you, I came to see Aya!”
“She doesn't want to talk to you! Just leave her alone!” he ordered as she turned to look at her best friend, “Aya, your boyfriend is seriously pissing me off! Can I please punch his face?!” Aya avoided her gaze as she called, “Aya, what's wrong?” Still no answer.
“See? Just leave her alone.” Kento said as the teacher walked in and began taking roll. The entire class time, Aya noticed Shizu trying to get her attention. However, she would just keep focused on the lesson.
“What's up, Aya? Why are you ignoring me?” Shizu asked quickly during break. Kento groaned, “You can quit acting like you care, Kuromiya--”
“I am not acting!” she screamed at him. She looked back at Aya, “Aya, you know I'm your best friend! Talk to me!”
“...Just leave me to my schoolwork.” she said as she looked back at her assignments.
“Aya--” Kento moved in between them, “She's made her choice. Stop annoying her.” Shizu glared at him as she looked at her friend, “Is that what you want Aya? You want me to leave you alone?” She continued to work as she sighed, “You aren't even gonna tell me why you're mad at me?” Still no answer. “Fine... I'll leave you alone...”
“... she actually... listened?” Kento said surprised as he took his seat next to her again. “That's surprising... what happened to her stubbornness?”
“... Not sure... maybe she's finally showing her real self...” Aya stated as she turned the page of her worksheet.
“... Aya, don't you think you should just relax? You're too focused on your schoolwork...”
“I know that... I'm trying to get everything done and do it all at my best.” she told him.
“That's good, but you should balance out your work with some fun... Don't you know too much work is bad for you~” he smiled as she sighed with a small smile, “As much fun as that sounds, I really need to get my grades up...”
“Come on. One day off can't be that bad...”
“Well I've taken plenty of days off and I really need to finish all this make-up work.” she replied. He sighed, “Please Aya~ Just a few hours. We haven't had any time together...” The school bell rang as she sighed, “Well talk more about this after school...” He stayed quiet but nodded.
